Building of the NOBLOCKER

This is how i turned a Eclipse factory eblade into the NOBLOCKER (a cocker without front or back blocks).

Before anyone rushes out and tries to copy this a word of warning.[size=7]
During the development of this i have broken the shaft of 3 nexus rams, the last one failed mid game with the bolt hitting me in the mask followed by lots of paint.
I was lucky it happened during a game so i was wearing a mask, now i always wear a mask when shooting paint just in case of another failure.

Video's taken in the cramped cramped chrono area after sundays UK Masters 10 man.

First vid is Ollie one of my teammates shooting it for the first time.

Second vid is me shooting for the first few seconds then paul then james.

Non of the vid's are that fast as we were warned before the tourney that any marker bouncing or ramping and you'd be out for the rest of the day so the filters were right up making it hard to walk very fast.

It does double feed in the second vid, we noticed after the detent had come loose.

This is pretty much how it started out.

And this is how it looks now.

VERY nicely done. I'm highly impressed.

Why do you think the nexus ram shafts kept breaking?

And do you have access to some high powered CNC machinery?

Again, I'm impressed. I think its awesome that you got that solenoid in there. Must have very little recoil.

great idea but it would look better if there was another place to put the ram

That is impressive. I like it.

But, it is sad that you can think up all that and do all that work but you can't take a pic that isn't blurry..lol

EDIT: It'd be neat if it were still full length and the ram was on top of the gun. For some reason that seems like it would look pretty cool.

Simple fix to stop the rams from breaking...

Take them apart, and put bumpers in, such the the ram does not stop because the bolt completes it's travel, but rather because it hits the bumper. This will put the shock of the full extension on the bumper inside the ram, rather than twisting the ram when the bolt finishes its travel.

You have a very long torque arm there - if the ram has a lot of inertia and all of a sudden the bolt stops, im not surprised the ram is breaking.

Very clean, Very nice. Props.

Very nice, although it resembles a Palmer Blazer with a front mount LPR.

I hope the issue with rams is now sorted, the latest version uses a pair of o-rings to join the bolt to the ram.
It is the threaded part of the ram that breaks so that is now sleaved all the way instead of just enough to attach the bolt.

Away for the weekent at a tourney so if all goes well i should get chance to do a video of it to post early next week.

Nice job. What kind of mill are you using? I only ask that because it looks like you are using a Jacobs chuck instead of an arbor or collet.
