Messed up End Cap

My reg locked up on me the other day so I thought I'd take it apart and clean it per the maintenance video that's posted, however, my end cap would not loosen up and I ended stripping it. It's on it's way back to Plamer, however, I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I'm not blaming the reg as I know I applied way too much pressure... the nickel I was using kept bending on me (though I'm still not sure why it was so hard to loosen up).

Anyway, this is what not to do to your reg...

Unless you take the adjuster screw out, the cap won't come loose.

I took out the adjuster screw and tried my hardest to unscrew it with a nickel and a quarter and it won't even budge.

Hmmmmmmmm, don't know what to tell you on that one.
They are not assembled all that tightly.
