KAPP Stubby DZ 2 and Female Stabilizer Compatability

I was looking around for a drop to use for my next setup, and I came across the KAPP Stubby DZ 2. Will the female Palmer Stabilizer fit in this drop? It would be nice, IMO, to have a short drop that doesn't require the ring mount for the Stabilizer.

Ah, that's great. I asked because I've heard of a small number of ASAs and tank regs that don't fit very well.

The stabes are too small to fit in DZ's. The od of a stabe is around an inch, and the id of aDZ ring is about 1.25".

Crap, I wonder if there's an outside chance I could get a spacer. Or possibly put it on the tank's reg (Crossfire).

A female Stab will not fit in a DZ clamp. I tried it, didn't work. I tried to shim it in and it worked for a while, but the Stabilizer worked it's way loose. I tightened the DZ clamp as tight as I could get it, so tight that I sheered a screw head.

I use Lapco drops with my female Stabilizer and ring mounts on my Blazer and Viking and I like the feel of it. The Shocktech drops also work nice with a female Stab and ring mount.

If it doesn't fit couldn't you just put the clamp around the neck of your tank and have the reg in front?

I think I'll just put a Benchmark cradle extender on a ring mount for the female Stab then. I may use a Shocktech drop, or possibly a CP Microdrop.

I also wondered that. If anyone knows if that'd work, let me know. It looks like the tank reg gets thicker at one point, maybe thick enough for the DZ 2.

i emailed Glenn about drop forwards last week and he said that any drop forward with a 2-hole standard set-up would be my best bet with a female Stabe.

I use a Shocktech MEdium on my Mag, and on my M98 and my Dad's Piranha. they're comfortable and look nice too.
