2005 NFL Last Man Standing
My dad is in a fantasy football league called last man standing. You pick one team to win each week and if they win you are still in it, but if they lose, then you are eliminated. You can only pick a team once. Everyone payed $50 to enter and there was 55 people who did it and it is winner take all. That's a little less than $3000. I'm helping my dad make his picks and if he wins he'll split it with me.
The first week he picked New England and they won so he's still in. Most everyone else picked either St. Louis, Carolina, or philly all of whom lost. So after the first week there are only 19 people remaining. With how fast people are dropping, my dad and I think it's best to keep on picking some of the best teams first rather than to save them. For week 2 right now we are pretty sure we are picking Pittsburgh over Houston.
If you could guarantee one team to win in week 2, who would it be?

Philly was my original pick for week 2, but with how horribly they played last week and how well San Fran played, it's too risky.

Maybe, but I would rather save some of the pretty good teams for weeks when they have a matchup when they are more likely to win.

i dont think this is a Fantasy League, more like a pool. The guys in my fantasy league do this as well as a side bet. I'm out already (I picked Carolina)

You have exceeded the expected ST intelligence level.
You are correct, it is a pool. I just used the term fantasy football so that people would know that I'm not talking about swimming or billiards.

I'm also in an "Elimination League" like this.
In week 1 I used the Bengals over the Browns so I'm still alive.
In week 2 I'm tempted to either take Baltimore over Tennesse or Dallas over Washington.

Normally I would agree with you, as I am a big cowboys fan, but I'm expecting the Ravens to make easy work of the Titans' defense. The Ravens defense is probably fired up after last week's loss to Indy, so I think this game is going to be a blow out. Baltimore wins 31-10.

Im guessing your not playing spreads, so that helps.
Either:
Baltimore > Tennessee
Pittsburg > Houston
Detroit > Chicago
Dallas > Washington (Dallas ALWAYS beats washington)

What the hell, I pick Pittsburgh, then Roethlisberger goes and gets hurt. Oh well, even if he doesn't play much, he's got Maddox as his backup. Pitt should still crush Houston even with Maddox.

Now i got to pick a team for week 3, who should I take?
I'm tempted to take Indy over Cleveland or Philly over Oakland.

It would seem like those are the for sure wins...but maybe not. Cleveland really got their offense on track, and their defence dosnt look bad. This 1 could be closer then most ppl suspect.
Carolina is my team and i have full faith that they will win, but that miami defence is good. I dont think miami's offence has much of a chance against carolinas D, and sense miami is playn a 3-4 this year i believe, carolina should be able to run relativly easy.
Philly should win, but oaklands offence is explosive and they can catch up in a heart beat. If the oakland defence steps up this could be a closer game than some suspect.
