I don't quite understand it, do you have to pay for each thread to be "trusted"?

This will not have a significant effect on the speed of the site. We just happened to release it during peak usage which is the reason for the slowness currently. We are waiting for another version of our software before deciding on our next hardware need.

Then what is the benifit of being trusted? Can't we just go to PayPal and look for peoples accounts to see the same thing for free?

No, here are the different variations of what we get when someone does the BST Trust: http://www.pbnation.com/ppverify.php?do=explain

You can't know if someone's account is address confirmed from anywhere I've seen without doing a transaction. Also, this assures that we have SOME information if a person is scammed. Should the authorities need it, we'll have it on record.

Does it automatically do it by what email you are registered under, and checking if you have a paypal account under that email? Because my account is under another email.

It's based on your username/id not email address. We would still record the email address associated with the paypal account though.

I almost grasp this concept haha... so shouldn't there be a page to fill out all this info about your paypal/address?

So say I pay the money for my thread, does this mean that if I post in another thread that it would say I am "trusted"? Or do I have to pay for that thread to show I am trusted? I am really conused.

You can add addresses in your paypal profile. If you are doing a deal with someone and they become BST Trusted in your thread and their badge says, "Address Unconfirmed" then you will know that paypal does not have a good handle on if the address they have provided is legit.

The whole purpose of this is to give users a better handle on who they're dealing with.

No it is per thread. If it were a one time thing, people could link back to old information further down the line.

It may take some time for people to get used to it. It has a lot of potential for users to avoid scams if they utilize it properly though.

I think it should be something that is done once and shows you are a BST Trusted member rather than paying for every thread.

BUT

I will say that if I sell a gun; I will use this feature.
