I think the Custom 98 is very much better than the Model 98. Customs are ready for sooo many upgrades such as double trigger while the Model 98 isn't. Also, it is easier to take apart the Custom because you don't have to take off the grips. 98 Custom for sure if you are going to buy one.

take off the grips what the hell are u talkin about??? you dont have to tak off the grips to take apart a regular 98. the orignal ones you did but that's cured if you spend $10 and get new grips from mike at county.

I've never had to take the grips off of my original Model 98, they're two halves, one on each side, but I bought mine just before Tippmann actually announced that the 98 Custom was going to be made..... so it's still fairly new

This one's a no-brainer.

The 98 Custom is MUCH better.

Tippman introduced the 98 Custom as a replacement for the Model 98. The 98 Custom is made to take upgrades much easier. Now, most Tippman upgrades ONLY work on the 98 Custom. If you have a Model 98, you won't be able to get all of the upgrades.

GET THE 98 CUSTOM!

The custom is basically the only thing you can get now. It allows you to get all the drop in kits that tippmann has made. But the vertical spring trigger on the custom blows nuts compared to the original 98.

that normal 98 is good but with the custom it is just so easy to upgrade.

It's very tempting to keep upgrading your Custom too.
