Okay, when I wanted to learn how to mod a Profiler, I searched PBN and it honestly wasn't that much help.
There are lots of opinions on how to do these mods, and most of the time, the people with the info didn't supply any pictures.
So this is my end all to Profiler mods...
---------------------------------------------------
1. Buy an Exacto knife, and zip ties.
2. Take the strap, and lens, off of your Profiler.
3. Cut off the existing ears.
*There is more than one way to do this. Some people prefer to leave a rubber rim around the outside of the mask like this:
I do it a bit different, I yank all of the rubber off from the outside so that it looks like this, then I cut off the 'dotted' or 'skeletal' section of the mask, and sand the rough edges off (no rubber at all remains on the outside of the mask) :
(The second arrow is just there to show what foamies are. Its an alternative if you can't find JT soft ears.)
----------------------------------------------------
4. Now on to the ears, and strap...
My ears are used, so they were already cut across the top when I got them. But you can figure this out for yourself, its not hard to trim the ears up.
If you are using your V-Force strap, leave it alone. If you are using a JT, Proto, or Hybrid strap cut the V-Force strap off of the clips, being sure not to damage the plastic clips.
Then just jam the desired strap through the clip, so that the strap will be going from the outside to the inside.
Like so:
5. Then, its time for your zip ties. If you don't know what zip ties are, they are miniature versions of what riot police use as hand-cuffs. You see them on the show COPS all the time.
Put the zip tie through the screw hole on the JT ear, and then through the clip (and beside the strap), fasten it down, and snip off the excess. It should look like this:
6. Then just plug the strap/clips in so that everything is arranged like this:
And I guess thats pretty much it... Hope it saves you guys some hassel and confusion...
BTW, this is how my mask turned out:
