Can you suggest a mask that has these features? Also need advice

Hello, been doing my own research but it is proving a little difficult.

I purchased a JT proflex and like the mask, but I had a real harsh day this weekend leaving me with very bad welts/swelling on my forehead, temples, ears, and jaw - got set up with some sandbagging players who were way better than I was. I've decided that despite the comfort it gives, the protection is just not sufficient for me if I have another bad day like this (I literally look like I got jumped and physically assaulted).

Can anyone make a recommendation for a mask that will protect the ears/forehead area well? I've been watching reviews but I cant seem to get the exact info I am looking for.

In addition, I have been reading about "Beanies". Can anyone who uses these comment on the amount of protection they give? I have never used them before. I was considering keeping my proflex and using it in conjunction with a beanie. How would that hold up for forehead/ear protection?

Basically - I dont mind getting hit, but I just want some better ear/forehead protection over the proflex. If anyone can recommend any mask, or combination of beanie/headband/mask etc I'd appreciate it

Perhaps the JT mask with the full head coverage? I believe that they are based off of the Flex8, and are like a helmet and Flex8 combined. Otherwise, yes, something like a beenie or a 100th Monkey bounce cap would be good for protecting your head.

Wearing a 100th Monkey bounce cap, I got bunkered years ago, and ultimately, I had a small red mark, much like a slight pimple blemish, afterwards. Not much pain, no muss, and the next day, you couldn't find it.

have you tried an eflex?

has the quick change lense of the event
soft event ears (that actually cover you whole ear)
and have proflex bottoms (can intergange bottoms)

you can also put a forhead protecter onto the top of it, or a visor..but i would suggest a nice headband..hundreth monkey makes a really nice one, that is really thick

I love my Eflex, but you have to layer headbands and beanie/Sandana for good protection.

Most 'pro' level masks don't offer forehead protection because we tend to protect our own foreheads with Sandanas, headbands, and beanies.

^^^Try this. If it's not ridiculously hot where your at maybe start with just a headband?

I wear JT Proflexs with a Sandana head wrap with a Sandana headband over it. PSP rules allow for 2 layers so most tournament guys in here will suggest this or something similar.

The full head shield JT Flex8 will protect you, but they can be a little hot in the summer.

Good luck out there, and try to keep your head down. No more OT (over the top) bunker play!

Also look into the i3 Pro soft ears. Supposedly they pop right on to the Proflex with a little finesse.
