What markers do you rent?

Those of you who own/run fields (indoors or outdoors), what types of markers do you rent and why? I know the most common seems to be Tippmanns because they're durable and cheap.

Do you rent anything else? Do any of you rent an assortment of markers so players can try out a marker before they decide to buy one?

If you do rent other markers, what kinds do you rent, and is it worth while to do so?

At our field, we rent out Lvl 10 Automags with ULE bodies. We have found it to be more expensive upfront, but in the long run (2 years) it is cheaper. They donot go down as much as a tippman and the parts are cheaper. (50 cents for orings instead of $15 dollars for a sear) Also it maintenance is a lot less with the mags.
Also the rental package comes with 47/3000 compressed air tanks. With the mag we are getting about 500 shots per tank. ANd with the dye barrels, they are very quiet.

Man, I'd love to play at your field. That's awesome.

Tippmanns, Piranhas, and cockers (trilogy). All work well. Used to use Spyders and Icons, what a waste that was. Live and learn I guess....

Used spyder compacts for a few years now. Upgraded a bunch of them to aluminum trigger frames as the plastic ones suck. Just have to replace a striker oring every now and then but thats it. (Sears rarely) Other fields in the area use pro-carbines or pirahnas.

Tippmanns are the way to go I believe, unless you can afford the automags.

The field I used to work at went to spyders, from tippmanns because they were half the cost. They ended up remaining in the armory until all the tippmanns were rented out because they seemed to do more damage than good. Parts were replaced much more frequently, people were asking for the model 98s over the spyders, it just wasn't as solid of a gun.

A large portion of our customers prefer the GTF. We actually conducted a study using this marker, Tippmanns, Piranhas and others for a number of months. We had a local field use 50 of each marker side by side and assigned the best techs to each marker. A database including repairs, time and parts was kept. At the end of the study one thing was apparent with the GTF’s versus the rest. The cost in labor payroll alone between the others averaged out to a $10,000+ dollar a year savings as the GTF’s simple tear down and cleaning can be accomplished in only a few minutes with no tools.

Savings between the costs of repair parts averaged out over $1,200 as well. The GTF’s required very few parts replaced with the exception of o-rings. Every little thing adds up to your overall bottom line per year. It goes to show that buying the best marker compared to what would seem an inferior one may hurt you in the end. Consider your choices wisely and you’ll reap the rewards.
