Well, at first I wanted a Matrix, but I then decided that its a new gun, and it probably has a few bugs that need to be worked out - and then I started thinking about Autocockers...I've always wanted one, so I figured why not go ahead and get one.

So here I am - I've decided to go with the 2000 model. I know all about normal maintenance and a bit about timing. I have no questions about that stuff...rather; I have some questions about after-market products. Here we go...
  • The Dye Autococker Bolt Block Combo - Is this a quality product? Will it fit a 2000 model (I assume it will)?
  • The Rat III Valve - Is this a simple installation? Will it work with a 2000 model?
  • The Air America Messiah - Is this a good regulator to use in conjunction with the Rat Valve?

Forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to the Autococker, I just want to make sure all of these parts will work properly together. Thanks go out to all that reply.

+The back bolt combo will work but I suggest buying a lightning bolt or shocktech superfly bolt. Then just buy a new back block.
+Have an airsmith install the valve. Yes it will work with any model
+The messiah is a good reg to use. You will have no problems in using it in conjuction with the Rat III.

Talking

Good questions, here's your answers.....
The better aftermarket bolts are the Akalmp Lightening bolt or Shocktech's Superfly. If you choose the Superfly you will need to use a "pre" 2k back block with it.
The Rat3:16 L.P.valve is an excellent choice for do-it-yourselfers. It's under $40 and comes WITH it's own springs!!
Personally I don't care for the Air America Regs when building a low pressure Cocker. If you wish to use the Messiah I strongly suggest replacing the stock reg spring with a lighter one. The fact is your stock WGP Inline Reg is a GREAT reg for going L.P. I would easily recommend it over the Messiah.
Once you get all your parts installed you'll find the gun to operate nicely at 230-240psi / 285-295fps.
If you have further questions just post, I'd be happy to answer.

Wink Ok, another question.

Is the ANS 3-way any good?

Talking O.K., another answer......

Sure ANS, KAPP, Palmers.... etc are all good 3-ways. However, Shocktech's "BOMB" seems to have the shortest pull and is very smooth!
Here's my pick for a solid front block set-up.....
- Palmers Reg.
- Clippard Ram
- Bomb 3-way

Um, you dont need all of that stuff except the nitro which that is good just because it is air america. All you need is a barrel, and a new valve is the least of yoru worries.

Talking Exactaly....... Ni-cD

That's why we (most of us), own Cockers...... Not because we need to but because we want to. Besides being a GREAT marker it also allows us to personalize it with "STUFF" that we don't have to have, but want! Heck, if we worried about buying stuff we really didn't need I guess we would all be shooting Talons.....LOL

I've heard bad things about ANS 3-ways. Such as they are horrible and the 3-ways are a mixed bundle. Go with the bomb 3-way. It is so smooth and nice. I can only compare it to an STO 3-way, and the bomb is nicer!!

This is true. I have one. It's very touchy compared to my STO three way and tends to leak(the ANS one).

Don't go with the STO, I've compared the STO and bomb since I've shot a gun with each of those on them. The bomb is smoother and nicer!

Cool Yo.... Ni-cD

Remember, if you decide to use the BOMB 3-way the L.P. hose hook-up is different from the stock Cocker....
The bomb goes: back to back of Ram, middle to Reg. & front to front of Ram.

I don't know if it's better than the Messiah or not, but I personally hate the stock reg. First of all, it's not externally adjustable, which is a pain for any pressure. It's also not too consistent in my experience. I slapped on a Sidewinder and the difference was night and day.

Just my .02...

Nope, its not externally adjustable right from the get go, but you can get this nifty little gadget from AKA...

As for the consistency part of your post, I dunno.
