I have a preset nitro tank
What regulator can I put on my mag to lower the pressure from the tank to the gun from 850 to like 500? Can all adjustable regulators do this?

AKA Sidewinder will allow you to go as low as possible. Or you could get a Gen-X II.

Don't add a third reg to an automag setup. 800psi is about what you want the input pressure to be anyway. The AIR contains a regulator anyway (Advanced Integrated Reguator.. duh) You need sufficant head pressure to make it function, between 200-400 psi is a good plan. The Insides of the automag work at around 450psi, so 800psi from a preset tank is just about ideal. In other words, DON'T BUY ANOTHER REG.

Adding a third reg will strangle it

I run a preset with no problems on my mag.
Get an adjustable tank if you want to lower the input pressure.

YES ADDING A THIRD REG TO A MAG WILL STARVE THE GUN OF AIR SUPPLY. I WOULD RECCOMEND HOWEVER IF YOU DO DECIDE TO GET ONE A GEN X II IT IS ONE OF THE BEST REGS OUT THERE AND IT IS ADJUSTABLE IT IS ALSO COMPLETELY TOURNY LEGAL.

Don't listen to magsfor life Gen X would #1 starve the gun like everybody else said but it would be making it more consistentthen the gun reg so it would get it down to like +-2 or whatever it is then the gun brings it back up to +- 10. See what i mean

Magman, mags4life is right, it will just starve the gun. If you want an automag to be more consistant lower it's input pressure. going below 700psi or so is not benificial, and you won't see more than +-8fps when you're putting 900psi into the gun... so... the preset reg, on it's own, will be just fine. So No, do not put on another regulator.
