A lot of Defiant 2 problems?

Is it just me or does it seems like this first batch of 2005 Defiants has had a lot of problems? I was all psyched to get a D2 and have been monitoring this bored to make sure it's a good gun but it seems like a lot of tweeks have been done to brand new guns to get them to properly function.
Do most guns go through this when they first come out?
Looks like the ICD Promaster is starting to look like more a viable option especially since it's about 300 bucks cheaper, you can use any HP Reg. on it and it comes with and HP Gauge already installed.
I think the D2 is a much better looking gun though and I love the board options on the D2.

Every gun goes through this phase, it's just common for the first batch to have some tweaks and such, but once its out of that phase, it rocks.

I had a feeling that might be the case, I'm still rooting for the Def 2 to buy.
I guess I'll have to keep a watch on the ICD board and this board to see which has fewer problems out of the gate.
I think were ICD was smarter than Bob Long was when the released the Promaster they put video too to wow people(or as some wrote earlier "gullible consumers", whatever that means) where as with the D2 you haven't heard much from BL about the D2. Kind of like he's resting on his Laurels.

I have shot 8 cases through mine without a problem. All new guns have problems and what you have to remember is that like 95% of problems people have with highend guns are all user errors, theres nothing wrong with the gun it self just the person using it. Anyways most of the problems that I here about new guns on the nation is because people expect to pull them out of the box and it will be ready to go. And I have shot the promaster and its shoots the same as my friends ramping B2K4 w/PDS is shoots the same as the promaster.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
How would you say that the Promaster compares to your Defiant?

The Promasters nice but the regs a little to incosistant for me and the board sucks If they come out with new boards it might be worth it. But until then shoots about the same as my impulse and the promasters ramping mode is really gappy. But I like the D2 its nice But its a big price difference If you only have like 400 I would consider it but I just like the D2's out of the box with no mods is well worth it.

Wow, you made my choice even harder.
Price isn't too huge a point, I'd pay and extra 300 bucks for a gun that felt right in my hands but I could add a lot extras with 300 bucks.
I'll have to go down to my local PB store and hold them both and see which one fits me better.
Thanks for the great review and comparison!

No, that's not many...
It just seems like a lot of people on here are having problems with them being a little sluggish out of the box.
Is that a board problem?
It also seems like I've read in a few threads that there is this bolt sticking forward problem.
What could be causing that? Milling tolerances? LPR settings?

I havent heard of to many problems that have been posted in here. Not nearly as many as you see in other forums. I think alot of these problems can be fixed yourself by adjusting some things.

I have also been scouting this forum because I held the Defiant at one of my local shops and I fell in love with it. For me, its either the Defiant 2 or a Proto as my next gun. But mainly because of the price, I am leaning towards the Defiant.

the problems are mainly because of people not lubing them or they are not broken in yet

once they are broken in, and you have everything set right (lpr, hpr) they rock
i shot 4 88/45s worth of dry firing to break mine in and it rocked at the field, put a couple cases thru it and a few more tanks of dryfiring

Well let me ask this then...
Do they shoot each gun before it leaves the factory?
I would assume they would and if they do shouldn't then the Regs be already set and ready to go?
I'm not asking this sarcasticaly this would just be my logic if I picked up a brand new gun.

Did you have to break it in quite a bit or right out of the box did it rip away?

Not to be a total Jerk here but if you don't know, which you said you don't even own a D2, please don't comment.
My question was aimed at someone that actually owns one and could tell me if the break in makes all the difference for the little problems that seem to be poping up with the particuler gun. I know you mean well and are just trying to help someone out and I can appreciate that but I get sick of reading comments from people who have never owned the gun their talking about, held it once or their next door neighbors sisters best friend told them about such and such on whatever.
Sorry if I sounded like a ****, Thanks!
