Age to work at a field?

I'm looking for owners opinions: How old do you have to be to work at a field? I'm 14 and I think it would be awesome. Hell, at my local field one of the refs is 13. So what do you guys think? BTW, if any field owners in the Southeast PA region are looking for some help with anything, send me a PM.

generally it's 16 because of insurance

Most fields that employ anyone under 16 gets paid in merchandise as child labor laws require you to be 16 to work in a non-family business.

really i was looking to work places this summer and they all sayed u have to 16 im only 14

I think it changes from State to State...I know PA and NJ are 16

yeah, i think it varies from field to field. I play at Pev's in Virginia, and the age limit there is 15.

**** iim 12 n i get paid in paint if i reff allday or clean up the paint(indoor field) then i get a case n i jus turn around and sell it 50 dollars a day is better then workin at mcdonalds n i love it so its kick ***

No, PA is 14. I have friends that work at McDonalds and Giant, and they are 14.

Lol, Here, in AZ I think it is supposed to be 16, but it varies by state. And also at a field I play at some like 13 year old kid refs somtimes so somtimes people aren't to strict about things.

i think its 15 cause thats when you can get you work permit

We abide by our liability insurance requirements of 16 years or older (not the younger state of Texas allowances). However, most of my refs are 17-24 years plus.

Not here. I'm 14 and got my permits.
