I read the sticky on custom shaving your ION and i was wondering if:

1) do you need to get off absolutely all the rubber?

2) Do you just sand a lot to get that little stripe thing in the center top to go away?

uhm it's common sense that getting rid of all the rubber would make it look smoother/better, and yea just sand away until the little stripe thing isn't visible but don't sand too much.

sanding away the rubber won't make it look smother...you have o apply a layer of bondo.

how much bondo work have you done??? it doesnt need to be smooth, the rubber just needs to be lower than the height you want the body!!!

Oh yea sorry, just figured it would make it smoother. Haven't started making a custom body yet, maybe if I pick up another body but I doubt it.
