Chopped Paint
Hey guys,
My Ion's on the way so I don't have one yet, but looking at how the Ion has an eclosed body with internals all inside, how easy/difficult is it to clean up when you chop paint? I used to own a spyder, so it was just take out bolt, run a squeegee through, and that was pretty much it.
thanks

You shouldn't chop, I've shoot about 2 cases with, halo, with revy, with vl 200 just to test the eye. WITH NO CHOPPING.
You'll be fine, just make sure the eyes are on. It's not hard to strip the Ion apart, your first time take your time.

Thanks for the informative replies. as for this person...i dunno. I mentioned already, I haven't gotten my Ion yet, but was contemplating what COULD happen if there was a chop. I guess I am an Ion n00b till I get the gun and strip it down to see what the internals are like.

yea youre screwed if you chop, but im at ~50 cases and not a single chop.
the only thing you need to worry about, is when you turn your gun on, be sure not to hit the button a second time or you turn your eyes off

Just use the stick type squeegees and you can put it in all the way and pull the paint out.You still need to clean it at the end of the day.

It really shouldn't chop. I had lots of barrel burst because of cheap paint, QEV causing the bolt to smack paint, paint-barrel match (.695 were stll small). Cann't change the paint so I took out the QEV and went back to stock settings. Bursts are just squeeges. My DM5 shoots anything, the Ion I have to be more careful.
The Ion does break apart pretty easy. You will probably be able to clean relube the bolt in under 10. Good luck and enjoy your new marker.

ive shot around 3 cases of paint through my ion and no chops. i used brasseagle afterburners, zap sport series, bigball, and scorch. so far no chops from some crappy *** paint. ions eyes are one of the best so dont worry about chops.

ok if you chop paint all you do is take off the barrel and put a towel or your hand over the breech and dry fire some to get any paint or shell out of the breech and then squeegie(sp lol) the barrel and you will be fine thats what i did the other day

If you're breaking that much paint, somethings wrong. I've shot a lot of brittle *** X-ball, Spank and Inferno paint without a single break...

if you chop hold ur gun upside down so no balls or in the chamber and fire just air 3-4 time and it will clean it out but if you have the time and your not in a game its always best to take out the bolt and run a squegee through it
