Why do you think they made such a bid deal about the amoebas? Yes it was disease but their big thing was teh amoebas in the WATER carrying disease.

I realize that the book is like 100 years old or some ****, but still water killing aliens is a recurring theme.

signs was sorta different the water was like acid to them and in war of the worlds the water makes them sick really fast and die
