you just have to walk the fields before the games..Making your mind up right before your first game on that field is a sure way to lose..If this is your first tournament there are a couple of basics.

1.Don't feel like you're gonna get killed..paintball is like..95% mental. If you don't think you can beat that team, you don't have a chance.
2. When someone is shooting the left side of your bunker, go out the right and shoot that side.
3.Angles are what win paintball games, if you get an angle on someone, there is no reason to not shoot that guy out.
4.Be aggressive..I see alot of teams not do so well because they aren't aggressive
5.Watch the tape, when you run to a corner, watch tapeside, and make sure that its secure. If somebody gets on your tape and you can't shoot them out because they're behind a bunker, you're team is gonna get rolled..
Theres alot more..but I'm too lazy to say it all/I don't want to say what my team does..haha

-Have your teams tanks filled BEFORE the day of the tourny, waiting in the long line sucks!

-Get to the field on time, get your gun chrono'd, and walk the fields

-Especially since its your first Tourny, make sure to pay attention during the Captains meeting. They basically just go over all the rules and penalties that can cost your team Valuable points!

-Just go in there having a good attitude and just play your game, and you should have a good/fun time

-Make sure you have your air/gun/hopper on right before the game starts, I see a lot of people forget that.

Make dure that your guns DO NOT have ramp/bounce

GO to the captain's meeting and listen to Dennis, Rab, and Dale- VERY important

Know that most events end up ahead of schedule

Have backup equipment if avail

Be polite to the Refs

Have fun

Get to the field EARLY. Allow time to walk EVERY field and work out strategies to play them and lanes that enable you to shoot.

Be aggressive and take bunkers when given the opportunity. The more you spread the field the better options/angles you'll have.

Shoot fast off the break and make it a point to get a guy off the break. Dropping a body on the other team is much more effective in 3 man than 5 man.

Keep the markers rolling. Keep shooting paint. If you keep guys pinned in their bunkers it should enable your players to move up easier and get better angles.

Keep your gun up. This is one I still have issues with but it's a good habit to get into.

Talk, Talk, Talk, Talk. Communicate well and effectively.

In your downtime watch and scout opposing teams for tendencies, including bunkers they like to play or sides they like to shoot out of.

Mix up your play a bit.

Pracctice, practice, practice

Whenever possible we try to hold a 3-Man team practice either 1 or 2 weeks prior to any PTS event. The next one will be Sunday July 10th.

I suggest your team attend. You will play teams in all three divisions and have access to some very experienced Pev's Team players who will work wih and help your team.

90% of the teams that make the finals regularly attend these practices.

This tourney is at Pevs@AG in Virginia. The Long Island leg should be in 2 weeks. The 3 divisions are Young Guns (14 and younger), Rookie (Less than one year of experience) and Novice (anyone except people with national experience, excluding IAO and Ultimate Madness).
