Well considering this is the first upgrade in the past two years, that isn't saying a whole lot.

I liek the update in soem ways but i dont see whta was wrong with v2. If it aint broke dont fix it.

On the BST when you hover your cursor over a link it gives you a brief description of link. Great! But it stops working after like 3 of them?

it's not my client.. dont argue with me. It's your server that have unix standard time.

You're hardly an expert when you claim that the servers IP address is 192.168.0.2.

This functionality only works for threads created after the upgrade, so old threads won't have it. Why they didn't make a way to update old threads, I'll never know.

The time thing could be because of the lack of "Date:" headers in the email, your mail client whatever it is could not be smart enough to interpret the date from other headers in the mail. I'll take a look.

Well is it necessary to have at least a 4 letter post? It would be simpler if it was disabled. But w/e I guess I'm just another ******* member.

The object is to avoid pointless posts. People can come up with something better to whine about than having to type a full sentence each time they post.

well.. i havnt talked about the header, my header says the right time. and the ip i got from the mail header.

All i was saying was that your timestamp was wrong..

well.. if you dont want to follow rfc821 which is the standard for smtp then dont blame my choice of client.

You didn't get that IP from a header, as our servers don't use 192.168.0.x for any of their network interfaces. The timestamp isn't wrong, its non existent.

Furthermore, it's not that *I* am not following the rfc, it's that the vbulletin software isn't. My mail clients can handle the mail just fine.

Also, I don't see anything in the RFC that mandates that a Date: header must be present.

Ugh I dont feel like looking through all of this, so is there a way you can get it so that we dont have to click the button to activate quick reply?

No. You have to click the reply button on the post you are replying to so the threaded view modes work.

the ip i got from the client formattaing the mailheader in a way that you could not understand, the ip 192.* was from my imap4 box and just pasted it in the message here and dont bothered to check, i'm sure you know what ip u are using.. so what is the problem?!?

If you were a person with more knowledge and interested in fixing the problem instead of bashing me i could have helped. Your angle of this is i'm the enemy and trying to ruin your beautiful day and you are the untouchable hero who are saving lives in here on pbn..

bye for now..

(btw i'm a *nix admin by profession, and if you couldnt understand the rfc i wouldnt tell it on the nation )
