they were "rushing" us because there were like half the number of games in the day (overall) so the day would move quicker

i thought the refs handled it well and how rab ended the youth finals was the right choice

Hey Guys,

Keep the comments coming!! We like to know what you would like to see happen in the series.

We hope as an organization we have proved that we listen to our players. We take what is said here very seriously.

The question on who refs better is a little unfair, all of the teams that have been chosen to ref our events have proven themselves to the organization or they would not be allowed to ref at all. We also make sure that teams are evenly split across the fields so we balance them all well.

Will some folks stick out in your head more, yes, will some fields seem better to individual players, yes, but it is unfair to say some refs are better than others.

Tournament paintball reffing is one of the hardest things in the world due to the speed at which our sport is played. Imagine a baseball umpire making a close play at the plate call over 100 times in a game, in the blazing sun, while dodging, or most often not dodging, paintballs being shot all around them.

Almost every tournament we hear players commenting on getting shot too many times. How about that ref that came in to get you and protect you when you're getting lit up.

Trust me they are getting hit more than you are.

The 10 Second Silent Countdown. this can be the shortest or longest 10 seconds in the wolrd depending on where your head is at when you are in the start box.

As it was explained at the Captain's Meeting, the 10 second silent countdown is completly up to the ref that is calling the field.

If your team has stepped into the start box, and you're not ready to play that is on you not the refs. Just like batting in baseball if you're not ready to hit don't go into the box.

The ref turns to each box before the countdown begins and asks if each team is ready, then he (or she) begins the countdown. If you're team isn't 100% ready to go let the refs know.

The one we can't seem to repeat enough is the one about the score cards. AS A TEM CAPTAIN you are responsible to make sure your team got the correct score for the game you just played BEFORE you leave the playing field.

That means both the winning team and the losing team. You need to look at the score card and make sure it is correct, then the winning team captain is responsible to make sure it gets turned in at the scorers table.

At the scorers table we review the score card to make sure the math on the score card is correct then we post the scores. With the many variations of the scores possible with hot gun penalties, and ramping penalties, there are far to many score combinations to keep track of them all. Games can range from 100 - 0 to 0-0 and anywhere in between.

As for the no semi's this time around. It quite simply depends on the number of teams in any particular division.

The national events (PSP, NPPL, Millenium Series) do the same thing.

For the PTS we need to have more than 24 teams in at least one of the divisions to justify holding a semi final round.

We will then have semi finals for all the division cause it's no fun sitting around watching others play and getting "cold" then having to play again.

As for the question about the event being fair. YES we go out of our way to make sure everything is 100% fair.

Going as far as to ask one of our regular teams to step down and not play an event to let a team that travelled 3 hours to play not knowing the hadn't registered correctly.

The team did so with no hesistation even though it may have cost them prizes at that event and valuable series points for the season. They even took tim eto coach the new team that played in their spot for the day.

That is the true spirit of the PTS.

I hope these answers clear up a few things, and send the message how serious we are about supporting the series, the teams, and players that make it what it is.

My last comment will be on the above post about a team "wiping". There is no room for that kind of post here. If you feel you need to post that kind of post please find somewhere else to do it.

My apologies are extended to the accused team. Surely you know that NO ONE assocaited with the PTS had anything to do with that post.

"D"

And..what DC heat did last tournament was pretty cool..It probably cost them the entire season and the end of season prize though...Well.. to DC heat for doing that last tournament
