how secure is the timmy detent in the housing? Does the housing only come in chrome? will it screw right in?

That is the stock housing. You must use it you only drop the detent into your original housing. It is very secure. To tighten the cap all the way down you must stick needle nose pliers on the small holes on the detent and twist.

does it work better than the eclipse fang detent? And does ne 1 know (if a person chooses to buy the eclipse detent) if you should buy the long or short fang for the detent? G_Cookie I'm guessing these detents are stronger but won't interfear with the bolt correct?

These detents are a lot stronger than stock detents. They are still the fang style so they won't interfere with the bolt. I personally have not put fang detents on my 03 so I dont know how they would compare. But I have put these detents up against every loader on the market I can think of accept for q-loader. They worked great.

How many of the timmy detents do you get for 8 bucks? What if I were to send you timmy detent, how much to modify them? How long will it take, do you just have to cut doun the back down to fit inside the housing?

You only get 1 detent. But I may cut the price like I said. Or give you 2 for 12. You have to trim the sides and the back. Trimming the sides has to be precise though because otherwise it weakens the detent and they wear out faster.

So basically you stole my design lol. Well anyways if anyone wants me to mod some for them let me know. Also I can now mod you detent housing so you can drop in timmy detents with no modding to them.
