Arrow The TurboRev II

Just saw this today at www.wickedairsportz.com
Quote:
Delivery problems - TurboRev II!
We have been trying to be as quiet as possible about the up coming release of the TurboRev II. We just planned on shipping the new model without first releasing that it was going to even be available, or what the new features are. We were suppose to have stock of the new model 3 weeks ago. When the stock did not arrive as scheduled, we started back orders (as we had every indication that the new units would arrive "any time now"). 3 weeks later (still without stock of the new unit), a decision was made to produce the original units again, which we now have. We did have some stock of the original units and those were sent to special cases (needed for immediate tournament, etc.) until we have none left. All orders placed from May 21, 2002 to current will now be shipped with the original unit. All TurboRev orders placed in May and June will qualify for a FREE upgrade to the new TurboRev II! We appologize for any inconvienece that this may have caused!

TurboRev II

After listening to our customers, we have made many changes to the already successful TurboRev design. We have changed the battery clips back to what the original Revolution uses (you just slide out the old Revolution board, and slide in the new TurboRev II board). The problem with needing to remove your batteries after play has been corrected (via using a toggle switch instead of the pushbutton switch - but the unit is still programmable). Battery consumption overall is better, and the feeding has once again improved! ALL surface mount components increased realiability (not that reliability has ever been a problem, its just that much better now). The output transistor used to drive the motor can handle a whopping 8 amps of current (a 9v battery only puts out .5 amps maximum). This equates to having substantially more torque than the previous model, clearing jams easily (but without breaking balls due to the computer's logic).

Current TurboRev owners will be able to upgrade to the new model by sending back their old board and paying $10 (which includes shipping).

how much of an improvement in bps can we expect from the turborev 2?....my associate has a standard turborev, and can still outshoot his hopper.....

While my turborev is a big improvement over the stock board I too can still outshoot it fairly easily.

I placed my order on 5/15. Does this mean I won't be getting the free upgrade?
