Now that's not necessary; everyone had kept this civil without any harshness and you had to come in throwing insults around. While I realize that you all don't want to hear anything negative about the kind of dog that you like, it's going to happen, and if you can't handle any negativity and come in here insulting others all the time then there will be some problems.

He handled himself very well, and regardless of the nature of the post, you do not have any right to insult him.

There will definitely be a fine line when it comes to people coming in here talking negatively about the breed, and more than likely the posts will be removed. However it seemed like he kept it very straightforward and informational, and no one got too riled up over it.

Do any of you take your dogs out to the dog parks close to where you live? sadly for me, most of the parks don't allow "pits" so i don't take them there. i take zoe out to a BIG field next to my house.

When they lived here in TN we took them to a hiking trail/park, and now that they're in Charlotte we bring them to an actual dog park. Usually that just ends up with Forrest running around starting **** with other dogs then running away, and me throwing the ball for bubba the entire time.

haha thats funny.
we use to go to one about a half hour drive away, and then the older people out there started freaking out lol. even tho zoey would get chased by the SMALLEST dogs that were there. that was a funny sight.

There are not really any dog parks around here for me. But Luca is pretty much afraid of most other dogs, it takes him a long while to get to know a dog.

He has a couple dog friends, but if they ever bark at him he gets upset and tries to ignore them for a time.

You just get a lot of "Wow, your pitbulls haven't killed any other dogs yet!" type comments... it gets kind of annoying after a while. You'd think that other dog owners wouldn't be like that but the vast majority are.

It's an awesome park, though.


Once you're inside the fence, you just let your dogs run wild and have fun. Site says it's 5 acres

American Pitbull Terriers were used as nanny and family dogs in the past pretty widely. I understand people's misconception about them but the breed is greatly based on loyalty. My family's Jack Russell Terrier is far more dog-aggressive than any pitbull I have encountered. Each dog is different based on how they are raised, the breed doesn't matter. You can train any dog to be what you want, and while they have certain traits you simply cannot generalize about a breed. You definitely have to raise a pitbull with boundaries and not let them own the household, they are stubborn but extremely loyal dogs from the experience I have had. I used to have a distinct prejudice against pitbulls before we adopted Boo, but she definitely changed my mind over the past year
