SLS rammer vs zick2
Hey, I am not totally sure that I even have a reason to post this but I am a bit curious. I recently bought a couple of gearbags from an old team mate that got out of the sport. in the gearbag i found a rammer from an SLS and the bolt inserts that come with an SLS. I am curious what the differences between the SLS rammer and the zick2 rammer are? I noticed that the SL rammer is obviously stamped "SL" and it also appears to be a bit lighter and shaped differently. Could someone fill me in a bit, is there actually a difference between the two of these? what exactly do the bolt inserts for an SLS do and are they worth trying in my ego 11 or are they worth selling?

Not true. The inserts work with the SLS Cure 3+ (obviously), stock Ego 11 bolts, and the Cure 4 bolt.

I was going to say, they seem to work fine in my ego 11 bolt..I thought the rammers were probly the same..does anyone know why the shape is different? I wish I had my gun with me to get a pic, I would take a comparison shot so you guys can see what I mean.

i stand corrected thought the sls bolts had a larger opening and thats why they didnt produce the interest for sale in the aftermarket

The sls rammer is the z2 rammer...I believe the one that said sl on it was from the sl94 and was thinner and some were snapping...if you had a pic if the rammer I could tell you for sure...I have the old rammer from my sl94 laying around because I got the replacement new style z2.

I will get a pic of it tomorrow when I pick my gun back up. It very well could be from an SL94, it's thinner in the mid section of the shaft. looks like it does have potential to snap. I screwed around with it in my ego 11. It could just be me but I messed with the settings a little on the noid and I feel like i can run them slightly lower with that rammer while still hitting 12.5

I wouldn't want to run the chance of that rammer snapping in your 11...they were replaced for a reason.

The ones that are "thinner" in the middle do break, but I've had it happen to me a few times and it doesn't mess anything up. Wait til it breaks then fix it

Planet Eclipse said the main reason those rammers were breaking was because people weren't screwing in the cap all the way. When the rammer returned, the bolt pin hit against the end and "stretched" it out.
Supposedly.

I actually used the "search" function haha and found a bunch of info on the rammer. i believe it is out of an SL94. I will still post pics up tomorrow. With you being able to restrict the solenoid in the ego11, if you had it set low for a smooth shot wouldn't that realistically put less stress on the rammer reducing the chance of it snapping? I read that some people are still using them in the SL94 without having any problems.
I'm not totally sure but I do believe I can achieve a lower solenoid setting while still reaching the 12.5 BPS. I think I want to do a little bit of testing now..
With all that being said, do the inserts do anything at all? Either way, they seem hard to find and thought it was a neat find!

The inserts don't really do ****...the muffler insert does change the sound signature a bit and the spindle insert doesn't really do anything...IMHO

The SLS inserts are "rare" in that they only came with the SLS, the muffler was a bit more quiet, as stated previously and I didn't do enough testing with the other inserts to tell one way or another on what they did.
There are some people out there looking for them, but not a ton of desire for them.
