Next Years Class A Divisions

I am starting this thread so that we can start to get things panned out for next years class A. I know that the NEIC and the MW probably aready have things planned but the GL division does not.

Rheal, what are your plans for next years GL division? I know that OU will not be traveling 6+ hours for everyone of our events. I just want to know who plans on filling the spots of OSU and IUP for next year. I know that Miami of Ohio is trying to get into Class A considering they just bought a new X-ball field. Anyone who how any information on this subject please feel free to comment. Thanks

Shoot, we would love to have Pitt and Penn State. That would better our division, plus we are all in a relatively close area. Events could be @ AAPP like always. It would work. Any more comments?

**** off, Penn State is ours.

Just throwing out some school names here, how far is Tennessee from you guys? They played WC and Natls, maybe they'd like to get in a conference.

It is true, we (Miami Of Ohio) did get funding for an xball field. Right now we have about 6-10 solid tournament guys who go here. We have not thought about doing class A, but we would definally be interested.

We will also like to set up an event which brings UC, OU, Miami and hopfully OSU. The way it is looking, we might have it at our "quad" in the middle of campus.

7 hour drive isn't too bad. We used to do that to go up to Syracuse for NEIC events.

That midsouth A conference sounds like a bust. They're not going to take all of the teams that play AA and get them to play A, that would destroy the entire south central conference.

3 class a events per year.

and you would have an event closer to you, so that it evens out the toll on the teams.

GVSU is up for class A again next year, and this time we will have the money for nationals given to us in September so that we don't get screwed by the school like we did this year. We would like to stay in the MW, but if for some reason a team is needed to keep the GL together we aren't 100% against changing conferences either.

Hasn't your spot in MW A been filled by another team?

That would be Wisconsins, GVSU showed up and played hard at every MW Class A event this season.

Wisconsin is out, EIU is in.

TN may be a good fit for Great Lakes. Which we should probably rename. Worst case we boot Penn State over to Great Lakes but that would be a last resort.

I wouldn't like it if I didn't get to play those frisky cuddly cats during the regular season.

This year the Great Lakes division consisted of Ohio University, Ohio State, University of Cincinatti, and Indiana University of Pennslvania. Unfortunatly, IUP quit after the fist event and OSU has also dropped out of the NCPA to go play CFOA. The league costs about $4000 annually which includes 3 events and Nationals. Paint is field paint only at the events but it usually costs about $30 a case for good quality paint.

-$3600 paid in September for entry fee
-~$30/case
-8 matches total in your region + matches at nationals
-a bare minimum of 10 guys + coach, with alternates to fill in for specific players who can't make an event
-money for paint, hotel, transportation, plane tickets to nationals

the only factors UT would be worried about is traveling and money. i know UGA is interested in class A also.

knoxville to cinci - 4 hours
atlanta to cinci - 7 hours

our money situation we will know more about this summer. as it stands we might not have the funding to do a complete class A coference this year. BUT, we are working hard on getting more $$.

anyone have any annual expenses on what they spent on class A?

Ohio University spent about $8000 this year not including travel, hotels, plane tickets, and about $100 a person per event for paint.
