If you look at the back of the Prop Shaft, you will see that there is a large hex hole for an allen key - used to remove and re-install the Prop.

If you look inside the large hex hole, you will see a smaller, silver hex head. This is the end of the VVC, which runs most of the way through the centre of the Prop.

It is kind of hard to know for sure why someone else may be selling a marker, but I could hazard a guess.

Early Geo's - pre G-R2 - had some issues with paint breakage, and this put some people off of them. Planet actually sent out free upgrades - the G-R2 kit - to resolve this problem, but you had to have activated the warranty on the marker in order to receive the kit. Some people don't register the warranty - so they can register the marker at a later date and extend their warranty - and so did not receive the free upgrade.

Other people have experienced problems with low efficiency, but this normally turns out to be a tuning issue, or can be down to another small problem with a very simple fix (incorrect sized back check ball in the solenoid, or the ball being dirty or damaged).

Some people have also had issues after using the wrong sized o-ring - 14x2 o-rings are critical for the function of the Geo, but some people have been mistakenly replacing them with #014 or #015 o-rings instead.

Some people just abandoned the Geo as soon as they ran in to a small problem, rather than waiting for a solution or working out where they were going wrong.

Can you purchase outer reg parts for the GEO, mainly the lower piece and the main shaft(not the swivel)I don't need any internal. Mine have 2 bad nicks just look ugly from my son dropping it in the drive way.

Sorry but there are no colour parts for sale indiviually. Best you can do is to trade with other owners. See geo part thread.

In case you ask, no colour parts are sold because of cost associated to making and stocking the parts.... That is, is not feasible in business sense to sell it unfortunately.

So trade or anno are your options

Planet were also concerned about people removing the Purge Control Valve when they changed the reg collars, which would lead to the marker firing each time it was degassed, and make the marker unsafe.

They were also concerned about lots of people struggling with the installation of the reg collar and the trigger - leading to more markers being returned and broken parts to replace - and so these parts were not going to be included.

Once this was made apparent, a lot of people stated that they would not be interested in buying CCU kits that still left two of the major parts a different colour.

That brings us back to oki's post. To be commercially viable, you need to make a certain number of kits in each colour, otherwise the annodising prices and machining prices get hiked up. Obviously, different people want a wide range of different colours, and with a minimum number of parts of each colour, it soon adds up to a lot of parts, and a lot of money invested in them. When you know up front that they aren't going to sell well, and a lot of these kits will just sit on a shelf in the store room, then it isn't a good investment.

Easier than an Ego. You can fully strip a Geo in about 2 minutes. Ego's LPR is a PITA to get to and the QEV's are a PITA too. Geo has HPR, Engine and noid. So easy you won't believe it.

And sounds like a good deal to me. I would take a Geo over anything but a '10 Ego in a heartbeat.

Actually LP would work better for the geo...

By the way, what's the deal with the 14x2 o-ring? Can anyone tell me the internal diameter and section (diameter) in inches for this one?

thanks

Not sure why you would think a LP tank is betterfor the Geo? Please note LP and MP tanks would have issues running a STOCK Geo. You will need to get a LP spring for your inline regulator to fix the low velocity and shoot down problems.

Also, many people stated that there are no beneficial outcomes from using a LP or a HP regulator... Unless your marker specifically said "use LP"

hope this clears up the confusion?

you mean there are no outcomes from using LP or LP or HP? I think you meant LP.

Well, as a matter of fact, considering the working pressure of the geo, it should work better with LP tanks... That's why I posted that but now I see I was wrong.. Sorry about that.

Anyway, a LP tank that provides a good flow is the best thing to use (right now I'm not talking about the marker or the geo, I'm just showing the differences). Compared to a HP tank, it gives indeed some advantage. Why? Because the tank's preset pressure goes all the way into the beggining of the marker's reg, then it is regulated. So:

- The actual pressure in all the preset parts and o-rings, and inside the macroline, being much lower, will help conserve the macroline better and all the o-rings related to the macroline and the preset reg itself, which, in this case, will also last longer compared to a HP preset tank.
- that's all. A HP tank will give you more flow and considering the fact that the geo's inline reg has a small inner volume, I can see now why a HP is mandatory.

The question I made above is still to be answered though lol

Sorry people!

Lol no worries... The LP vs HP discussion seems to be too complex for me sometimes. All I know is "use this, and you are good"

Unfortunately i'm stuck at work so can't help you with the oring question. Maybe some of the other guys can help out.
