They had tons of 11x. I had my recruiter reserve the earliest possible one (jan 2) so I don't have to eat so long after I found I couldn't get a clearance.

Didnt they say the were going to tighten up the entrance requirements??? in any case I commend you for having integrity few do, even the guys you will undoubtedly meet who have clearances... in any case keep your attitude positive and you pretty much will just roll with whatever the army throws at you. Have tough skin, a quick wit, and try to relax dont be one of those stick in the mud, holier than thou ******s and you will actually make some great brothers....

oh and take up the offer of free college while you are still in then get out and rake in that fat GI bill bah/tuition etc for a masters or something worth while

It seems to me and my recruiter that they're quite a bit more tightened. I have a clean record and fessed up to smoke marijuana a few times. I will admit I lie. But I won't if it could affect my livelyhood. I got a 91 on the asvab and was going for 25s or 15t. But found out I couldn't for said reasons.

My plan is to eventually make the switch to one of those down the road unless I change my mind and attempt ranger school.

At this point I'm really looking forward to OSUT. I don't want to sound cocky at all because I'm a fairly humble person, but I'm very confident about it.

I'm hoping to be in it for the long haul because I have a huge respect for service members and it's something I've wanted to do forever. It feels like a pretty cool way to live out a childhood dream at this point.

****ty as in the weather is ****ty. I lived in GA all my life. There's a slim window for good seasons and that's not one of them. Who knows though. Two Januarys ago, it snowed at Benning.

Oh, and OSUT is the most miserable torturous time of your life. You will actually come up depressed but with the new found knowledge of all the different ways you contemplated on killing someone, because that'll be the only thing that can get you through having to live with those **** tards and you'll lose respect for just exactly WHO can get a 11x contract. So I got in major trouble for walking and shooting while clearing the obj on a blank run before a live fire. Ohh, and the co tried to give me an article 15 for disobeying a direct order. When it was clearly an accident. **** them for treating us like ****ing children. Hope my co chokes on a fat cock.

We were assaulting an objective (house) one time at a range and from where we were coming out of the woods and running up to the house I could see some targets pop up.. which if they were real I deff would have been getting shot at..

****ing went cyclic like mid-run and finished making my way to "cover" (side of house still in direct line of sight of enemy)..

Yeah shot outside of range fan the entire time.. which was ****ing retarded 'cause if I were to follow that rule I would not be able to shoot at all..

Got told that was some hot ****ing **** by the CO but "don't do that again" 'cause it was outside range fan lololol

Same thing happened to me on my first field prob as a brand new FNG private. We were running company assault with dismounts and brads on a town. I was an AG for a 240 gunner, we were supposed to set up on the second floor of a house and cover the street. For some reason the gun didn't work so I just went to the window with my 16a3 and started lighting up everything in sight. Some of those 4 guy targets for the brads popped up and I shot those too.
Later the PSG was chewing me out for being a retard not helping clear the gun and shooting the brad targets out of my sector. But the CO thought it was hot **** because apparently they were like 800 meters out and I was shooting them from standing. So then transfer to snipers happened.

But yeah so many leaders pay lip service to "train like you fight..." but then they are range weenies. If someone doesn't get hurt every now and then in training you are not doing it right IMO

My co said I smiled when I did it like I did it deliberately just to ignore their orders. The lane was a smoke fest and by the time I made it to the obj I was out of it and all other training took over. I joked about it later when the oic brought if up but he wasn't mad. **** them still.
