Truth is, the majority of users on PbNation don't use a resolution of greater width than 960px wide, so not only is the fixed width easier to design for but it accommodates the widest array of users (which is why it will become the default).
To be honest, if I had my way I wouldn't be giving you guys a fluid layout as fixed width is sooo much easier from a developer standpoint, but that's life.

I'm moving this so everyone can see it. It's no longer a secret.
Now people who aren't ASM can try it out.

Big fan of the fixed width. I like to browse with windows maximised on the 2nd monitor, and the fixed looks much nicer since it's not so spread out. The new themes are very crisp!

Greys 2013 fluid is an entirely tolerable jump from greys, and the new non solid black background is pretty neat. Gotta thank you for keeping fluid around, though. I tend to maximize things regardless of whether or not I need that much screen real estate to view it properly, and something optimized for a screen half as wide as mine just looks goofy. Then again, I auto-hide the taskbar because that little bit of wasted screen real estate kinda irks me, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Now, let's talk about bringing back that sidebar...

Don't be silly. You have the sidebar badge, you must have the sidebar...

Thank you for keeping a dark option.
I'm part of that 3% that changes to a non-stock forum look when I log in the first time from a new computer/etc.

It's not happening. No need to stress. Kyle hates those more than you do.

This. I always used dark red, just due to the colors and such being easier on my eyes especially at night (getting back from work at midnight after a 16 hour day, my eyes are beat). Im gonna miss dark red but grey is so similar I am more then ok with the change.
I also like the fluid for the reasons stated already, but I can deal with the fixed.

.
I'm actually not pissed.
Well done.
Still going to keep using the old grey/blue and grey/red until they're gone because I ****ing love them and everything about them so much.
This is why I spend more time on here than most places, really. I just love how it feels and is laid out when using.
I feel this new style will be too busy. I mean, I won't have anything against using it, but meh, I like the simple cleanliness.
I still like the new layout, just something to get used to as it's my only option, unfortunately.
yay for being the 3%.

I'm running 1920x1080. The non-fluid options are rough to say the least. Half of the screen is blank in the margins.

Yeah me too, hate websites that are blaring white. Would love to see the grey with another color though. It looks very drab....i use the grey/maroon combo.

Went from classic Greys to new Greys. It feels the same, but the fixed width is going to take a bit to get used to..

I was just on PBN last night while using my phone and wondering when the forums would be redone so it would be easier to navigate on a small screen. Lookin' good!

Fixed leaves about half the screen blank on my current monitor, but fluid solves that problem. If you're going to go with fixed, it would be cool if it was wide enough to look decent on a wide screen computer.

The width we are using is basically the defacto standard as far as "friendly to most people" goes. Doing a super wide fixed width makes no sense since people running a resolution lower than whatever you specified would get stuck scrolling side to side.
The point of designing for a fixed width like this is that you can position elements exactly as you want, know they'll display that way for everyone, and not have to figure out what to do with a bunch of white space (or reflow if people are resizing their browsers).
