When you're out

My local field has rules that when you're out you leave the field gun straight up. If someone is walking out gun down, you shoot at them, and they yell they're out, but continue to keep their gun down, do you continue shooting or let them go?

As a way to enforce the rule I have a tendency to throw a decent amount of paint their way until they get it up. It wouldn't be a problem but we have guys who call out with gun down and two minutes later they're hitting you in the back.

I usually yell "hit". If they keep shooting I yell louder, usually people on the sidelines will say "let him out". If that fails I'll stick my gun in the air or wave my hand.

80% of the time I stick my gun in the air I get shot in the grip (which really sucks to clean). Or I'll put my hand in the air and wave it, and get shot in the hand haha. Usually ill just walk off as long as Im not getting barraged with paint. I'll take a hit or two here and there but thats paintball.

On a side note, once when I was playing it was 2vs1(me). I was shooting at a guy to my right. Then I notice him get up and start walking, my initial thought/reaction is hes out. Therefore I wrap the bunker and start shooting at the guy thats left. I then recieved 3 shots to the chest/leg from the first player. Turns out he wasn't out, he just decided to walk in my direction in plain view. That really sucked because I could've easily tucked in and snapped a few shots to get him out.

I think your right in laying down some extra paint to get them to hold there guns up. It'd work if I was behind the bunker and hit. Its better than getting shot the way I did. Shooting at them while there walking off the feild and yelling "hit" or "out" gun up or down is really unnessecary. Especially at a rec feild or practice.

What the purpose behind raising your hand, yelling you’re out, waving a hand, or walking off with an OBVIOUS hit???? To signal to other players that you have been eliminated. If another player is leaving the playing field with paint on them, regardless of whatever signal for elimination they are or are not giving you, why would you continue to shoot them? Now if you don’t see any paint throw enough their way to ensure they and other players on your team know the player in question has been eliminated. Now if they take an hit and play on, then however amount of paint needed for them to come out.

ok ide like to refer everyone to the acculy question of the forum witch hardly anyone acculy answered. my answer is if he keeps his hands down yell to him to put his hands up if hes out and talk to him after the game. once he calls hes out there's no point in shooting him more because its against the rules to lie about being out but the first few shots before he says his out are justified in my opinion.

I would put your BBD on your gun to tell and show them that you are out and there is no way that you can shoot at them. Try to get a brightly colored BBD so it is easy to see. Hope this helps

i do this every now and then sometimes it works most of the time it doesnt but dead man walking is a tricky thing just getting up form your bunker and walking to the other side of the field takes skill and if you can do it you have ninja like skills as long as your hand isnt up your ok

i always seem to get hit in the arm pit....or on the hopper lid = pops open.

one time on a hyperball field, the other team kept lobbing balls over at us before the game. At first, they were hitting all around us, then i got hit i think in the shoulder.......i was pissed - some might call it a hopper well spent before the whistle.

If i get hit on a snap, i wave my hand out of my bunker and then walk out, so what if i catch a few extra. But if i am clearly walking down the sidelines with gun down, and you shoot me, i will look back. If you acknowledge its an accident, its good, but if i look back and you are still shooting, im going to turn, load a pod, and **** you up. And for the rest of the day, you're my *****. IM not a very violent person. But if you shoot me once as im walking off, its good, if you shoot me twice, on purpose, its a problem

Throwing a ton of paint at these people will only cause problems for you and them. I understand that it is frustrating that someone who has called out is back in but it will lead to fights and a bad day. Tell the refs, it is there job not yours to monitor other players. If you continue to monitor by throwing more paint, the wrong person will end up throwing punches. If the refs do nothing on a consistant basis get a new field to call home.
