Escort Passport 9500ix Hands down best radar detector, Has built in GPS and tells you your actual speed when there is a radar presence detected. Also can program known speed trap areas.

The 9500 is nice and all until you find a cop sitting in a spot where you get a beep everyday.
And some of the local cops actually do, around here.

It works for me and I got it for half price I think its still one of the best. It doesn't work everytime, as not many will if they are running laser on you but still nice to have.

So which one is it? Is it the best, or is it one of the best? Clearly, you can't make up your mind and you don't know what you're talking about. Saying an Ego i s the best gun on the market, rather than saying it's one of the best guns on the market are two completely different statements.

Read the thread. If you did that, you'd know what he, myself and plenty of other people recommend. Don't reply 43 pages into this thread and act like a know-it-all *******.

I have a 9500ix...two actually, so no. I also have a V1 and Laser Interceptor. Oh and a Cheetah c50... So yeah, shut up.
Glad you got a 9500ix, it's a great detector. However, don't come in here and run your mouth when when most of us are enthusiasts who actually know what they are talking about.

I'm not going to read 43 Pages of people talking about radar detectors. When I bought the radar detector 3 years ago it was definitely one of the best. But with the way technology is, its probably not anymore. I didn't know you were such a radar detector nazi.

Then don't be a smart *** and be sarcastic because you're too lazy to read.

I'm not, I'm just trying to figure out you're saying, but you don't even know know you're saying, so how is that possible?

This is my point...did he say he had radar? No, he has radar detectors and a pair of Laser Interceptors. You can keep the cookie because you'll need the extra money when you get owned with laser or instant on.

I was saying at the time it was one of the best if not the best. You understood just fine apparently. And by radar i meant radar detectors. I don't even bother to speed more than 7-10 over because with a CDL its a tight tolerance for insurance reasons.

Mmmk... I was merely demonstrating that I am experienced with radar detectors and other countermeasures.
I have two 9500ix's because they are great detectors. All-around, it is an outstanding detector out of the box...one of the best for popping into a car and using with ease. In a way, I was trying to go easy on you and show that I also like the 9500ix and I understand why you're a fan. However, it's definitely not "the best" and your suggesting that I'm a Cobra fan or some sort of dick definitely did not make me want to like you.
Don't really think there is a best... I'm sure many would say the Sti-R is but I have yet to experience that so I will stick with my prior statement. I prefer my V1 over the 9500ix so ha.

I was just joking around with you with the cobra thing lol. And I think the best detectors are the ones that are built into car (front and rear)with jamming technology but cost so much money that I don't even think that its worth it unless your doing a cannon ball or bull run.

Remote detectors (Stir +) tend to be the best detectors, but come with the worst jammers. And no, it's worth it any time you speed, and if you speed often, it's worth it. If you consider 7-10 over the PSL "really speeding", then you're not really a speeder. Yes, you could get pulled over for doing 7-10 over, but it's not that much over the PSL. Not to mention, it's highly unlikely you'll get pulled over for going 7-10 over. With out my current set up, I would have spent well over 10,000$ on tickets, insurance hikes and court fees. But instead, I have spent a little under 1000$ to protect myself.
Do the math, and you can figure out who's winning out

If I lived in the city, I'd definitely have a better setup, and one capable of laser. Around here, I've not seen a single laser being run and the cops here, even the DPS officers, like to sit around with their ka perma on all day. They even park their cars with that **** on. They just never shut it off.
On the way to Houston, I know where the speed traps are and don't speed through there. Plus, I only cruise at 5-10+ then find some idiot doing 90 and make them my *****. On my way home the other day I watched someone get a ticket going 105 over a hill I was picking up radar on.
I might upgrade to an stir soon and give my brother my 50 when he gets to driving. Not sure yet. I know the X50 alone is so damn impressive compared to the old 8500 we used to have.

I don't consider 7-10 over really speeding thats just what I keep it at because I don't need any points on my license. Sometimes i'll crank on it a bit but will make sure that there isn't any visible cops around but that doesn't always work I definitely agree with you for the insurance surcharges, fines and points in the long run it is 100% worth it you definitely have made a solid investment.

Yeah I will pace people as well but thats not always a sure fire way to not get caught. Its backfired on me a handful of times where there are multiple cops waiting. Which seems to be all the time especially down here in Florida.

Which one is the best radar in your opinion? My brother bought the 9500ix and owned it for around 2 months until he returned it. It didn't catch about 25% of the cops, and those were the ones that he would only see, not even the sneaky ones.

If you're not "catching" a cop they're not running radar. Maybe I'm not understanding?
