Why was the Devil Created?

Sin has been with the human race since the begining of time. As i recall sin came when Adam and Eve were king and queen of our materialistic world. Evil or the devil is what most of us can relate to as the dark side? But why is it that this side had to be created? Was it because the human race needed to find a scape goat to blame it all on?

The Devil was originally an Angel, but was jealous of God and tried to overthrow God. The Devil failed and is considered a "fallen angel".

ok so yes what we called satan or the devil today was once an angel. not just any angel he was basically 2nd in command after the big G-O-D. and yes he got jealous and was therefore cast out of heaven with 1/3 of his "follower" angels which are the demons of today. This dark side as you say was created by our own human free will that God himself gave us. the reason why he gave us this free will was that we would choose to truly love him as we wanted. if we didnt have free will everything would be very "computerized" and mechanical and not real in a sense. so with this free will we had choices to do either good or bad, but since adam and eve hadnt eaten from the tree yet they didnt know what "bad" was until satan tempted them, this is where the free will sets in. adam and eve get curious and want to know what this "knowledge that God is keeping from them is." so they take a bite from the apple and viola evil manifests in us humans. God knew about evil already it just hadnt corrupted the world yet, what adam and eve did caused sin to enter the world. i hope that answers ur question

Isaiah 14. Verses 12-15 refer to Lucifer being exiled from Heaven.

The Devil (and hell) as most people currently think of him in a merely a creation of the Catholic church in the middle ages meant to keep the poor from rebelling against the aristocracy.

Sorry Razzy, but Satan has existed longer than the Catholic church has. He's found in the OT which comes way before the Catholic church.

it wasnt so much the jealousy in and of itself, but the fact that he tried to exalt himself higher than God. he attempted to overthrow God's throne and made God very angry. his punishment for his failed attempt was eternal damnation in hell and the lake of fire.

But if "God" is all knowing and all powerful, how could "Satan" overthrow him? "God" could see in to the future, and prevent "Satan" from ever taking people into "Hell" and away from "God"

It really helps when you know the Christian God is a bunch of BS; the angle is a lot easier to understand.
