Official MARQ Troubleshooting/Known Issues...

O.K. Guys,

Although the ONYX underwent a Brutally Rigorous & Lengthy Beta Testing period, BLAST didn't encounter any real issues on the Markers tested. However, that is not to say some issues will not arise in the future.

To this point we have yet to hear of any real problems and/or issues on the ONYX's sold so far.

However, Murphy's Law is always lurking around the corner and we'd like to hear of any REAL Issues/Problems that are not easily fixable and may in fact require technical assistance from BLAST. We know how technical our customers tend to be but we'd like to gather as much feedback on this issue in particular, so we can better assist customers who may encounter the same little bugs.

Keeping such posts in a single thread allows us to more efficiently remedy any such issue(s) that may arise.

Thanks for your contributions...

ROB.

[edit]= For those of you with working markers...

We're happy to know your marker is functioning properly but we need to keep this thread lean. Meaning Only questions regarding a Particular Issue the person is xeperiencing and possible Causes & Repairs are to be posted.

I just got my Onyx yesterday and I am having issue with the inside hoses blowing off, I have not touched anything inside the marker yet and both the LPR and HPR are factory set. Also I am having a small leak down the barrel of the gun and shootdown. So far not so good. Gun feels great and has VERY little kick, but thats only for the first few shots then the hoses blow off.

Any advice?

1. Just change the hose ( I think I heard about this one in SD Nppl, I think they just put a little loctite on the barb an then slid the hose over it)
2. Send/Call blast to help isolate that issue

I have changed the hose, a couple times lol,

I will double check the front Oring

Also it did not start leaking untill I put a HP tank on it, nothing that should have hurt it though

You may have hosing who's inner diameter may be a bit stretched or has lost some of it's integral strength allowing it to fly off the Barbs when pressure is applied.

Call up BLAST and speak to a Tech. They will either send you free replacement hosing or ask you to ship it back.

Personally I run the Solid Black Hosing in my Markers when it needs replacing (seldom does) and I buy it from Speed's Customs. That stuff is a bit more rubbery and it keeps a good hold on the Barbs. Have yet to have it snap off, even under higher pressures. It cna be more difficult to slide onto the Barbs but a good pair of small needle nose pliers do the trick.

I have some, I swapped it out already with the black hose, it is tough to get on but it poped right off when pressure was applied.

Could it be that the LPR is messed up? I show it to a master ego tesk, not that they are the same gun but he should have a idea of how a gun works, and he said it could be the LPR letting to much preassure through and blowing off the hose

Thank you for all your help and effort guys

If the LPR Pressure is indeed to high, it can cause the hose to blow off.

When the marker fired, did it sound O.K. or did it make the loud bang sound that Markers make when pressures are too high?

Also, try turning out the adjustment screw on the HPR all the way out and then air up your ONYX and turn in the HPR adjustment screww just until you hear it gas up properly.

Now, BEFORE you try turning it up some more to raise velocity, be sure to have a chrono handy so you can monitor the highest velocity reading before the hose blows off. You may just get the desired FPS before the hose pops off.

Yes, The maker fired fine. I will check the FPS at the field and see how many turns out the reg goes before the hose blows off. The reg is Counter clockwise to decrease FPS correct?

YES, but it's a better idea to turn it out all the way and work from scratch. I like to ease my way up rather than have to turn down pressure, although as long as you shoot a couple of shots to equalize pressure going down is fine.

Okay I have one for you..

Today I was playing and a ball chopped in the chamber. The bolt took the shell back and a hissing sound was heard through the end. Now I took the bolt out and cleaned it and the rest of the goo inside.. eyes were dirty and those were cleaned. Now the eyes will not recognize the ball every so often I get the blue I need to assure me it's ready to play, by the time I get ready to start the eyes show green indicating there isn't a ball there.. huh? Are the eyes still dirty and is there a way to know if the bolt is cycling right? I think sometimes the bolt is a lil' too fast..

Sounds like you have some paint left over somewhere. Try cleaning the Eye & boards with high pressure air. That should force any left over paint out from those areas you may not have been able to get to. If that doesn't work, check to see that all solder points are still in tact.

good idea, loctite on a barb, then put air hose on it.

Then when u gas the marker up you blow locktite into your gun.

I'd recommend, getting one of those lil top hats and slide it over the hose to secure it

I could see if maybe there was a leak around the barb, but even then thats a dumb idea, but with the hose blowing off that doesnt make sence...

im just not sure why anyone would put loctite on anything but threads? concidering loctite bonds metal/metal not metal/rubber.

I replaced the hose and it seemed to hold this time, just had to ram it on the barb.

Still have the leak down the barrel, Cup Seal maybe?

BTW the gun (even with the leak) is AWSOME, just AWSOME
