What the hell are you talking about? If there was any love, a **** ton of teams from the east coast should have signed up & paid for the DC event. What? It wasn't close enough for you? Shut up already!

No, he has a point. Boston was a succesful event when it came up here...evidently it sounds like USPL 7-Man is a westcoast game for now. Whatever, their loss...

I'm sure that the moment east coast teams start signing up for events that will make the venue worth while - they will surely schedule more venues closer.

The branding of the NPPL need to be back... Much like Harley-Davidson, and their buyout and financial trouble back in the day.. the name, logo, and self selling image to the paintball world is needed.. Never mind the Shawn Walker days.. its about NPPL.. it was the what paintball has become the closest thing to mainstream and to start over and market a new name, just spells trouble with the sport or image on the name.. NPPL needs to come back and carry us forward .... We as players and industry people need to come together and make the changes right to bring the status to the top.. not blame those in the past.. or the wrong doings of people who just had money and not the knowledge of the sport to back us!

Since when has NJ ever been > DC? Try never. Obviously you've never been to the Pevs field. It's better than any field on the east coast so it would be a given that's where they would schedule the 1 east coast event.

They need to change the name to WCPL (West Coast Paintball League).

OK - just the facts (not picking on any league in particular)
GPL (much closer to the DC Venue then NEPL): 12 D2 / D3 teams
NEPL (much closer to say a Boston venue then GPL): 35 D2 & D3 teams
Hum....which "National" venue do you think would draw more teams?

Boston would have had a better turnout it was always a good event, but people in hb were saying dc might not happen then, I think the knew back then the event would not happen

So, other then the fact that Tom F owns part of the league - why have an event in DC? Seems like a poor business decision. On the flip side - WOW - what a facility PEV's has down there - the pictures of it look amazing. Great job on building out the facility.

I'm guessing the facility played a large part in the decision. The fields and netting and everything is already setup for them.

Bullet Points....
Pev’s postponed….
Event #3 (which is now event #2), no dates, no venue
Event #3 (which was event #2) in August in DC. A paintball tournament in August in VA will have temps around 95 degrees with 100% humidity.
Event #4, no venue.
Well, that clears things up… this is the league that's going to save tournament paintball?

Hahaha. This part is true. People who complain about the humidity from other parts of the country have no idea.

All pro team owners own a part of the league (equal share), and sorry to say there is no Pro teams from the New England area this year so there is no facility to promote up there.

Tony,
Just because there are no PRO teams from New England playing in the league does not mean that locating an event there is a good or bad decision. I think the number of 7-man teams Anthony (BPS) draws to the NEPL should be a strong indicator as to the viability of holding an event in the region.
Are you saying that one of the West Coast PRO teams owns the HB location? I don't think so. Is there a reason for selecting HB - yes, it draws teams. Same reason why holding an event in the Boston area would be good for the league - to draw teams.

Can't agree with you more, I know we bring 3 Arsenal teams to every event and now we also have 3-4 other Arsenal supported teams we help out to get to the events. Everyone wants an event to play in their backyard but if thats the only one your going to play, it will not work out. Otherwise it looks like i will be flying to Cali alot, I don't mind that one of the few people who can put up with travel.

Orginally HB event was just the stand alone event and all the other events were going to be put on at fields (home camps) of the pro teams. This was to promote the fields where the pros play and to bring new people into the sport (here is where you can play all types of paintball). With no pro team in New England I was against holding an event there for that reason only, but the draw that Anthony gets on teams put his field into play. I wasn't on the conference call last night but my guess is that since Pevs is one of the pro teams home fields and Boston wasn't that is why they went with Pevs not to mention he just put in his second turf field for the event as well.
Dave, get your Boston area teams to travel to some events and show them the east coast has enough 7 man teams to warrant 2 events and then we can go to bat next year for 2 on this coast.

No pro team owns the Pevs location.

Arsenal practices at OACC. I've heard they might start practicing at Pevs soon but haven't had a single practice there yet.
