Did you buy 2001 PGP's or are they older? The 2001's have barrels that are longer than the feed tube, and for the older ones the barrel and feed tube are even. Look on the picture thread ... the last post should be mine, and my PGP is a pre 2001, the post above it has a 2001.

If your PGP is older it's really nice to have a velocity adjuster. You can buy them sometimes or make them yourselves. If you look closely at that picture there is one installed on the marker in the back, lowest tube. Also, tie a string to the magazine plug so you don't loose it. get better grips for it, since the center screw grips rotate with the pumping action ... that's why you see so many with tape around them. You might want to polish the inside of the barrel and take that black stuff off. That can be a chore though.

Harder than buying an Autococker lol. This is pretty much what Palmers does to make Sheridan based semi-auto guns.

Personally, although I am a tinkerer myself, I don't think it's practical to make a PGP into a semi-auto. There are plenty of semi-autos out there to pick from already. What makes a PGP what it is is that it's a stock class pistol. The smallness of it is the advantage.

The two mods I would definitely install for a pre 2001 PGP are a rear velocity adjuster and a Cooper-T EZ bolt. The EZ bolt is like the 2001 or the P-68 bolts ... the ball bearings retract when you go to cock it so it's MUCH easier to cock. It's also nice to have a Nasty pump handle from Cooper-T, and an Insta-Peirce valve from Palmers but not necessary.

how much do u think an autococking pgp would go for, from crappy quality ( held together with zip ties) and to great quality (professionally done)? has anybody here bought one and for how much?

Start by looking around Palmers Pursuit Shop's web site. It won't be cheap to have a pro do it. There's a nice one there for sale now with a .45 frame for a little under $1000.

how much do u think it would cost to have the bottome of the body drilled and tapped to take a macro line fitting directly in front of the trigger gaurd? I'm buying a pgp soon and i don't want to deal with all the 12 grams. Also, is the base of the trigger frame already tapped to take an asa or drop?

For the most part, you don't want to do any mods to a stock PGP frame. It's made from pot metal and doesn't have the strength; no, it's not tapped for a bottom line and no air-smith worth his salt would do it, simply for that reason. You can get a UMB from Palmers, which mounts under the grip panels and provides a bottom line, or you can get a WGP frame moded to fit the PGP brass, then setup a bottom line on the new frame. If your serious about a PGP, check out the online PGPOG (PGP owners group), they'll have all kinds of answers. . .
