Yea, which made taking "op" gauss rifles useless for any mech that has them in an arm. Even in torsos on atlai they get shot out pretty often. Now everyone just uses ac20's.

People complained it dealt too much damage without enough downside, aka heat. So now they are glass cannons and you'll be lucky to get off 10 shots without it being blown to bits by a small laser.

i agree 3 health is a bit to fragile for the guass though...maybe bump it up to 5 or something just so it has some survivability to it.

they should just get rid of all ballistic hardpoints on the catapults. it pisses me off because i think of catapults as the quintessential LRM mech yet most cats are just ac20, gauss, or srm whores

its the ecm fad thats rendered them almost useless as lrm boats...or lrms in general. either its because people dont realise they can just put a tag on it and still hit things, or they' just rather use stalkers lol. if youve got a co-ordinated team on comms and stuff ecm isnt too much of an issue as you can work together and spot targets, but in pugs its luck of the draw if your lrm boat can actually be usefull.

i had to work today, so i dont have anything planned tonigh. prolly be on in a little while after i fix something to eat.

All they need to do is keep the hardpoints, but change the amount of available slots. Just make it one less slot than a gauss requires and bam, no more gc or ac20 cats.

Just built a CTF-4X with four AC/5s and 5 tons of ammo. I'm a fan so far. It's awful versus small mechs but it tears through everything else.

I've been enjoying my Centurion. Running around with a Ultra AC 5, 3 Streak SRMs, and 2 Medium Lasers at 77 KPH doing hit and runs.

Also the No Guts No Galaxy Teamspeak server is great to get into groups that aren't random PUGs with no coordination.

CN9-A with a STD 240, Endo-Steel, and Dbl Heat Sinks.

The Ultra A/C 5 does jam a lot. But when it lays down a string of six shells in a second or two, it is devastating with 12 Streaks hitting the same spot in the same period of time.

I just run a normal ac5 on mine. 245 engine and 2 srm 4's. Dhs puts my heat at 1.4 lol

Edit: and of course 2 lasers.

I might do something similar to this next. I've been wanting something fast with a lot of firepower. Right now my CTF is way too slow. I could put an XL engine in it and get much better speed but I don't like the idea of losing either side of my torso and dying. I'm trying to figure out how I can replace two of the AC/5s with UAC/5s as well. I've seen people do it but can't figure out how to make it work. I'm always too heavy.
