Tank for younger children

Here's a situation that the guys at Ninja run into all of the time at the fields we play at:

Young kids between the ages of about 10-15 have a difficult time holding rental systems that have a 48/3000 screwed into the ASA, especially on longer marker setups like the Tippmann 98s. We see these younger kids having to cradle the air system under their armpit, just to be able to fire the marker, which makes for inaccurate shots. We also see these younger players having a difficult time holding the setup due to the weight. We feel this does not provide the best possible experience with the younger crowd.

We want to hear store and field owners feedback on a possible 35/3000 air system. Imagine a 48/3k with about 3-4 inches shaved off of the length and the same width as a 48/3k. This system would weight about the same as a black fiber wrapped Ninja system.

Does anyone see the value in being able to offer this type of air system in the retail market, as well as a field rental air system - knowing this would be geared towards the younger crowd?

Thanks in advance for any and all input you guys can give

It would be a great innovation if you could sell them bulk and in packages to field and store owners, and find a way to market the tank to newer players that are getting into the game and buying their own setup. You are going to be able to really tell whether the product sells or not until you put it on the market. I think its a great idea with all pros and no cons to be honest.

Thanks for the feedback. We feel this would help provide a much better experience to younger players, female players, and people short in height.

Well, I'm not a field owner, but I have noticed the problem with the tanks being rather heavy. I have your 62/3000 system and I don't really have a problem carrying it with a remote, but if I lend it to anyone without a remote setup, the marker requires a few inches of drop-forwards just to balance it.
My field uses 98Cs and your 48/3000 systems, as in your scenario above, and when I take younger children to the field with me their markers end up becoming too heavy to carry for long periods, difficult to fire, and hard to point. I think a 35/3000 system would effectively solve this problem and open up the sport to younger players.

So, yeah, I might actually get one as a backup if you ever start selling them on the retail market!

Thanks for your feedback Noah. This has unfortunately been an ongoing problem for a very long time. Keep an eye out, we just might have something in a month or so

If you can come in close to the price point of your 48/3000's I'd bet you have a winner. Some of the guys on MCB just did custom run of 35/3000's and they seemed pretty popular. I for one would be interested.

We had this very scenario with a young player a couple of weeks ago. Tippmann 98 w/ 48/3000 was way to heavy for him. We ended up letting him use a cheap Cybrid gun we happened to have laying around (cheap but very light weight) and put a 47/4500 psi tank on it. He was able to carry this around without a problem.

I could definitely see carrying a few of the 35/3000's for these instances if you guys decide to go ahead with it!

This would be perfect. Our field just puts 13ci's on rentals for kids. But we all know the shot count on those

Fantastic. It would be nice to have some in stock just for this purpose, but there are also people who want as light a setup as possible, who do not shoot a whole lot in a game. This product would appeal to a number of current full-size players as well, in my opinion.

I know I've had a few friends (females, mainly) that complained about the weight/length of the rentals...

Never heard a complaint from a customer, but I have seen the arpit shots and the parents carrying the rentals for them.

The need for them is definitely out there. If you can make the price point right around the same as generic 48/3000s i will purchase 10-20 of them for my field

I would definitely be watching this, a pretty decent substitute for the 13 and 22 tanks. I was wondering if Ninja's tank manufacturer's are looking into something like 13-22 cui tanks but in 4500 pressures. Keep it up guys, doing great!

Hmm.. I have many a customer being shocked at the weight of the marker, but I don't quite know if it is a deal buster for them. I personally would want to know about the shot count first... we typically refill tanks every 3 games or so. if a customer could get 2 games out of it (320ish shots) I would probably fold into my rental fleet. Would we still be able to use our existing artwork on file to be printed on these new ones?

I think is an awesome idea- I've been trying to come up with a lighter rental setup for exactly this reason but I'm to comfortable with the dependability of my 98s.

I dont blame ya for using those 98s. They are workhorses! When I worked at Procaps, I used to tell my customer that the Tippy's are about the only marker that you can put in your gear bag, pull it out 10 years later, lube up the orings and it will work.

Good to hear that everyone is so receptive of the idea. We feel that if you're able to provide a better experience to the younger players, you're more apt to get referrals for other bday parties or even have that person come back to play again.

I agree this would be a great idea. I could see fields carrying a handful of these tanks to help satisfy the needs of the younger crowds.

I like this idea as well, I'd say the bulk of my field's business is parties of young kids in the 10-14 demographic, and watching them try to tote around those 47/3k's screwed on to a 98C can be almost painful at times! Very cool idea!

Might you guys consider some sort of trade in program for fields that are making the switch?

Very, Very good idea. At The Edge Paintball Adventures I see almost 100 kids in that age group a weekend. They can only carry that weight around for about 3 hours. I would be in the market for at least 50..

Nearly every single HPA tank for our rentals is a ninja system. Most purchased directly through you guys. I would definitely purchase these for our fleet.

It's probably too small a market for you to bother with, but New Zealand regulations allow for HPA tanks 30ci and under to be used without a hydro or any paperwork - possibly an alternative niche to consider with this product. A similar tank has already been popular with fields and players alike.
