what happened with the glitch?

Was at 80% heat, in mid battle with a commando and some ******* supporting him with missiles, see a flight of lrms coming at me, run for cover, watch the lrms get closer... and closer... and closer and I'm sitting there waiting for my ams to kick in, never does, as the missiles are about to hit I see the commando and try to fire my lpl, nothing, get rocked by missiles, try to fire my srms, nothing, get almost to cover, suddenly shut down from apparent overheat, only to power back up as if I had been mashing the override, which I hadn't cause I was sitting there wondering wtf was going on, as soon as I power up I'm hit by another flight of lrms, still taking fire from the commando, heat is now 90% for no reason, start to break contact only to see a dragon running up on me, turn to fire on him, suddenly explode from suicide. Haven't fired a single weapon throughout the whole sequence, sit there stunned wondering what the **** just ****ed me up.

hmmm weird, have never had that or heard of that happening before. I'll keep an eye out for it though.

Yea, it was super weird. I wasn't sure what was going on the whole time, I just knew that I was going to die cause of the random shutdown screwing me over.

On an unrelated subject, I'm having some fun running a Gauss Raven. I love seeing the obvious surprise of a Hunchback pilot as he tries to spam me with AC/2s only to have his shoulder taken out with my gauss while I run circles around him at 90kmph+.

Are crits enabled? My twin lbx's got taken out last game but the armor section was still yellow, plenty of armor to protect them.

Did you have ammo in that section?

Big patch set for Tuesday. Cicada, Yen-Lo-Weng, Endo steel, Ferro-Fibrous armor, Double heatsinks, Forest Colony Alternate and more.

I had ammo in the section that was yellow. But it was a totally different section than the guns themselves. The section I had ammo in still had a working gun, so I assume the guns were taken out somehow. Can't wait for this patch, dhs better work like 4x better than the current heat sinks. Also, the values for the pilot upgrade trees are placeholders only, they didn't actually change the values from the old ones, so they are all at like 2.5% and whatnot. Explains why I didn't notice any difference, wonder when those will become real values.

ive had the overheat glitch happen to me a couple times. its pretty annoying because it never seems to recover and you basically just wait to die. powering down might fix it, i dunno...it tends to only happen when your getting the **** shot out of you and are panicking to get to cover than remembering to power down.

Finally found a Centy I like. XL engine, AMS, ER PPC, 2 ML, and SRM6. As long as I don't try to brawl with it, and hang back with the LRM boats and snipe with the PPC until the battle starts to close together. It does great at the late battle clean up.

hey scot what size xl engine you use in your hunchy? i noticed we used the same variant mostly. (45P i think/ the one with missile launchers)

I gave up on XL engines in my hunchy. Started dying too much from losing my shoulders.

XL's don't really pay to get unless you have a cat, raven or jenner. Those three are the hardest to take out a side torso section causing you to get cored.

XL doesn't really matter for lights since the TTK is insanely quick.

They work fine in Dragons, too. So far I haven't had a problem with having one in my centy either, but it's not a brawler so it doesn't really start to lose armor til late in the game.
