PBNation, if they set this up, has said it will be a donation badge, so they are setting up a a "Support the Troops" badge to help give to a Military Charity, because WE, the users of PbNation asked for it.
This thread was not started by PbNation, this was started by a member who wanted a "Support the Troops" badge
So PbNation is not siding with one thing or another per-say, they are siding with their members who have asked for something.
BUT, if PbNation allows this, whether they are just siding with their members, or they actually support it internally, it is completely within their right to do so, regardless of this being on the internet and being a global forum.
PbNation is an American company, they should have the right to support their country regardless of who frequents the website.
Also, although I have no real figures, I'm willing to bet that PbNation users are around 95+% American. Why not allow something as harmless as this that the majority wants for the fear that it might upset the minority?
If PbNation was based in another country and the majority of its members wanted a badge showing support for their troops then I would not have a problem with that, I probably wouldn't end up getting one myself, but it wouldn't offend me.
Especially if you have to pay for it to have it (donation badge, like Peyton, which was a great idea), it's not a matter of turning it on or off. It's not like PbNation is giving everyone a "Support the Troops" badge and its un-removable from your profile.
