Welcome to paintball - the ridiculously difficult to follow sport that takes months to put into a TV format.

It's not a paintball thing, it's a funding thing. Doing live production is expensive. Pretty much all college sports other than the 'big' basketball and football are broadcast on delay of weeks to months. Hell, that's true for a lot of the non-major sports in general - pretty sure they don't live broadcast bass fishing either.

So we have the event in April and broadcast it 3 months later. On the upside, it lets us put together a better show than if we were doing a live cut.

Fox College Sports is unfortunately not available on Dish or DirecTV. But the Fox Sports Nets are, so you can catch the finals.

college hockey is another major one you can find live however college baseball is never live except for the college world series or whatever it is, last time i checked baseball is bigger then hockey, just thought i would throw it out there. i wish that some of the old paintball shows would start airing again like paintball 2 extremes and the event they showed on espn and the indoor x ball league they showed on espn as well, those were pretty well done. i love watching college paintball and i wish they would show more of it.

guarantee that college hockey is more popular than college baseball for television purpose plus the format of hockey can be live because it is continuous and decently simple. i cant imagine if they did our paintball live.....it wouldnt be that fun to watch really because all the interviews would be screwed up and what not

good point, never thought of college hockey vs. college baseball from a television perspective, good observation

I would think that if they wanted to get a real good video they would delay the showing to edit it. Personally I liked the way ESPN2 did it. I have yet to see FSN's broadcast...

Paintball is a developing sport like baseball or soccer was at one point. You can't expect a primetime slot in march or april, during march madness and such. Least it can get some outward attention this way without being overshadowed by anything.

olymipic trials? i know a lot of people like to watch that, it's something new ou never see track and field and gymnastics on tv so people like to watch it, and they wanna see whose gonna be repping the good ole usa in the olympics, thats about the only thing that i think is gonna be shadowing this year, i wish people were intrigued by paintball, like if flipping through the channels and saw paintball if they actually kept it on and watched in for like 10 minutes.
