Carefully Planned Irresponsibility......

The boy calls Mom.... Says the fall colors are beautiful and invites the wife and I to run up to Milwalkee, Wisconsin and visit for the weekend. Sounds great to her. We run up.

By the way, Dad, the salmon are running. Might want to bring your fly rod.

Good Boy!

Proof that I have a life besides paintball.

Your pursuits seem to have one thing in common - netting.

Would you believe you can catch those in the Milwalkee City Park on the Milwalkee River a mile from the kids apartment? 2 miles from down town?

To catch fish like that you are supposed to spend a few grand and go on an expedition.... Right...?

Carefully planned irresponsibility. Imagine telling the wife you want to take a week to go see the fall colors in Wisconsin. Just a few tanks of gas, meals, and hotel rooms. One day non resident permit plus annual trout and salmon stamp is a grand total of $21.

You don't have to tell her it is a fishing trip. Just Oh. Wow! Look at those fish! You mean I can catch them for $10 bucks a day plus a $11 trout stamp? "OK honey? Can I?" Sure honey. "Love you." Easy as PIE....

Carefully planned irresponsibility....... Her time, Our time, and MY time.....

And they take their beer very seriously in Milwalkee. Besides the major names, you can buy beer from all over the world there. Not to mention dozens of micro brewerys. One restuarant had a beer menu that was several times thicker than the food menu. Each beer had its evolution and history in its makeup in the menu. Like who would have thought that India Ale came from England. Well, it was brewed with extra hops which was a preservative so it could be shipped to India without spoiling. A full bodied and bitter ale. The monks in Europe really seemed to like beer. Could make a guy road trip for you single guys. To get to all the brewerys, you would have to cross the Milwalkee river several times. Sober up standing in cold water on the way to the next brewery.

And the fall colors are nice....

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Got me!

Deer season is coming up. Never tried to net one yet..... Hmmmm...... Might happen. We take them out by canoe. If we dump the canoe, we may need a net...
