How many of you guys capture your gaming and with what?
I need some info. My son wants to capture his gaming and Im confused as to what specs I may need for the computer to run it. He wants this PVR. Anyone with experience with this or any other PVR like it? TIA
I looked into this the other day. I actually found a lot of results when I Googled it. Try that if you haven't already. You'd probably have real good luck if you asked this question on www.gamebattles.com or whatever the MLG website is these days.
Black Magic Intensity Pro - requires PCI-Express slot and somewhat good of specs to compress video as it records.
Hauppauge HD PVR 2 - External device.
Avermedia - company that makes multiple recording devices.
I personally used a Happauge HD PVR and it was great. I just bought a HD PVR 2 today and will be using that for now on. My friend uses a Avermedia capture card and its great too. Can't really go wrong with any of those three. All three do full HD recording and have great quality. Have never heard of the one you linked to.

There are also software options. Fraps (paid) or CamStudio (free) will be able to capture whatever is showing on the screen. You will need a decent computer and you also might need to lower the in-game graphics settings a little. If you have a second hard drive, you should record to that.
There are two things I use to record gameplay.
For console gaming: Elgato Capture Card HD. Recprda to your computer's hard drive
and comes with its own software. Really simple to use.
PC gaming: Fraps. Super cheap and gets the job done
