I'm going on vacation to the New York and Boston area in 1 week

Other than the obvious site seeing locations, and places everyone knows about, are there any of you guys that know of low key places that are worth going to? Maybe awesome bars (I am 21) or not-so-famous places that are pretty cool and worth seeing.

I'm already going to like the statue of liberty, times square, a red sox game, yankees game, going to eat Nathan's famous hotdogs, Lobster in south maine, random sights in bahstun, etc.

I suppose if anyone lives out there you'll be much more knowledgable of also what to avoid as well. Any input is welcome.

Oh and if you guys know of any place that serves the highest quality bleach that I can consume, I'm sure that would be cool too. <--Inb4 that and ways to kill yourself, etc. etc. Thanks bros.

I'm in Boston. If you know where to look there are random neighborhoods with lots of character. I Like to hang out in the South End, near Mass Ave. Copley Place Hotel where scenes of Boondock Saints were shot. Many places from the departed like the Boston Public Gardens. I like going to the lower class neighborhoods because you get a much realer picture of the city. Hit up Roxbury, Dorchestor, South Boston. The further you get from the Newbury Treet scene the better. There are lots of college hangouts. Club Rise is an afterhour club with good dj's. Every thursday is Drum and Bass night at a bar called the Phoenix Landing. Very low key atmosphere, sweet jungle, no tight *** security.

Boston has tons of cool bars and is a great place to go out, especially if you are a beer fan. If you will be in Fenway park anyway and are seeing the Red Sox, check out the local Cask N' Flagon or The Yard House. If you are looking for general info about Massachusetts, there are multiple tourism offices in Boston that offer good maps and ideas.

Way to give him **** advice.

Do not go to Dorchester, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park. Waste of your time. I don't know what "real picture" he's talking about because I'm sure you've seen homeless ****s before and gangbangers.

Lots of good shopping in Copley/Newbury Street. Tons of restaurants in that area as well as the North End. I'd do some research and get an idea where you want to eat because there are tons of options. Rise is a ****ty, ****ty, ****ty "club." It is where all the weird raver nerds go when they want to roll face and dress up in beads and fuzzy ****ing hats and stupid clothing. If you want to go to a bar hit the Fenway area (will be more expensive) or come up Allston on a Friday/Saturday night. I live right down the street from dozens of bars and there are gorgeous women that fill them and like to get some dick. You could even walk into a random house party and usually no one will give a ****. Just pick up your own alcohol at the liquor store before hand and you're good to go. We do have a few good music venues too you could look into prior to coming if you want to catch a show.

If you were to go see the Statue of Liberty, it's best viewed from the boat from the distance and not on the island. It's taller than you think it is.

Get out of Boston. Avoid Brockton and Taunton to the south, they suck. If you stick in the city there are tons of cool bars everywhere around Fenway, you're gonna pay top dollar for beverages, but unless you get out into the smaller towns and cities around the city you're screwed. Theres nice places around, but you wont really find a bad time.

Doyle's in Jamaican Plains if you want pricy beer, but they serve Brick Red, so it's worth it alone.

If you're into beer, go on the Sam Adams Brewery tour, it's free and they give you beer. Win-Win.
