I think the age should be around 15 or 16. Alot of the people playing are teens around that age. I started playing about a year ago but I am 24 so I dont have to deal with it. I do agree with the younger people though, they should be able to buy what the need to play the sport just like anyone else. It does suck that your parents wont help you out and go to the store with you though.

i had that problem when i was 17, im nineteen now, so haha to all you youngsters!!!
on topic angain, i say we start some sort of list to have the buyer assume full responsability and sign a waver when buying paint. but then again.. obama is president, so they're probbably going to scan your id every time you buy 'em from now on anyway.

At my local shop I never have had to deal with this. I turned 16 in September, and since then I have bought two different markers, have gone through at least 10 cases of paint, and filled up my tank countless times. Your situation doesn't surprise me though, I've gone to Sports Authority in the past trying to fill up CO2 real quick, and they asked for my ID, I guess the local shops are cool with it.
Even when I was 15, I still bought paint and air, and they never asked me for an ID.

What I find strange is the fact that when you're 17, you can join the Marines and go overseas to get shot at and yet it is too dangerous for you to go and get a case of paint that cannot possibly kill you. I don't see the logic behind these restrictions... Don't go to places like Scheels or Waly World (Walmart) to get your paint. Support your local pro shops and pay cash!

I'm going to go to walmart today and do that. Name some random paintball parts and ask them about them in their crappy markers. I'm gonna go to the $20 pump 12g co2 marker and ask about random things

So much cursing, what the hell is wrong with you..?
No wonders they didn't let you fill your HPA tank and buy paintballs if you talk like this to the sellers.
From what I've experienced, you don't need to be 18 to buy paint or fill your tank in Florida, France, and most countries in Central America.
I don't know if this varies from store to store or state to state in the USA. However, to play or buy a marker, you need parental authorisation in many places if you are a minor. I've heard that in some places, Airsoft requires to be 18 to buy or play, even if you have parental authorization. But I don't really care about Airsoft, nor about the legalities as they don't affect me hehe

I pulled that on a guy once and he taught me how to make a spimmy.
I never did it but boy was I owned.

Its a liability issue. Technically pro-shops arent supposed to sell to you either, but they want to make the sale.
