Nitro Tanks not allowed in flights? Please help me

Is the reg supposed to be off the tank before you can check your bags? I thought the FAA allowed tanks to be checked with your bags if it was empty? Please someone help me I have a flight and they're not allowing me on the airplane. Anyone have a link to a site about this issue? HEEELP!! Thank you.

They are only allowed on the flight if they can see inside of the tank. If they can't see inside of it, you can't fly with it. Basically, this means you need to take the reg off.

As long as the reg is off you're good to go.

what if you dont carry it on the plane with you, like have it in baggage or something, I honestly don't know anything about flying, I've always driven or taken a ferry, so don't expect that to make alot of sense.

In order for it to even get into the security area, they have to be able to see into the tank. If they can't see into the tank, they don't know what could be in there.

I'm sure you can imagine how a bad person might use 45 to 88 cubic inches of space.

Well its still on the plane though. Granted most times they have the safety areas so if it did blow up it wouldnt cause crazy damage, but they arent gonna take that risk.

If you can open the bottle to let the inspector see the contents it is allowed on the flight.

Rules are-
1- Reg has to be removed.
2- TSA form has to be attached to tank, AND provided to airline during checkin.

Most airlines don't care about the form, but MANY tanks have been confiscated becaue the reg was not removed. The fear is not bombs, but hidden drugs.

Your choices are either:
1- Remove the reg. (Ask your local scuba shop if you can't do it)
2- Mail to the nearest post office (addressed to "General Delivery")
3- See if the local field will accept delivery (many do, like EMR).
4- Leave it at home, and find something. (many larger fields rent HPA).

If you do end up taking it with you, it has to be in carry-on luggage also. You can't have it in checked baggage. I just went through this three days ago.
