How's it going guys? I'm thinking about using my tax return to get myself a 2014 Vapor, I was just curious what everyone's feelings are on them? How do you like it compared to the original one, and has there been any issues with them thus far? I know they really havent been out all to long but I just want to get first hand opinions from some of you. Thanks!

I havnt shot a 2014 but from what I have heard they shoot similar . But the 2014 needs less lube and not as picky with orings.

They're deadly cheap. A pod through this one and it was £250 ($400). I've always been a fan of the look (although not of the drivetrain in the V1) but I'm wanting to give the 14 a go.

Any tuning tips for when it's broken in?

Not sure if this is what your asking but when your gun is on and ready to fire push the power button and it will cycle your firing options. If you can't then you may need to go into settings and unlock them to be able to cycle them. But ape boards are nice cause they are able to cycle modes on the fly.

~Trigger scrolls through the settings
~Tap power button to view the current value
-Tap power button a second time to change the value. Then pull the trigger however many times to enter in the new setting
-Alternatively, you can pull the trigger again and it will bring you to the next setting

So for millenium, do this:

~Solid red (eyes on): set to your BPS (10?)
~Slow red (eyes off): set to 10
~Fast red (BPS Fine): 10 for no fine adjustment, 2 is .2 bps, 5 is .5bps, etc.
~Flickering red (capped): 2=capped, 1=uncapped. You want 2.
~Slow White (Mode1): 16 (all off)
~Fast White (Mode2): 8 (only millenium on)


After that, you can just hold the power button down until it turns off and it'll save your settings

See, my issue is as follows: Trying to cycle the firing modes. Occasionally, it works. I've managed to get it to flashing blue (not exactly what I want but I think that's the right one. I can't get it to have ramp start at 4 then ramping to 10.2) - but if I want to change it back the manual says "just tap the power button"

I've not touched anything resembling a tourney lock and just tapping the power button results in annoying beeps and nothing else. It's far more annoying than anything else.

I can play, but only in that mode, and the more I fiddle with it the more pissed off I get. I'll do it in the morning when I've had more than 30 mins of sleep.

To cycle modes, the eyes have to be on and the marker has to think there's paint in the breech (stick your finger in the breech and it should be fine). Then just tap the power button

Also, the instructions I gave you enabled Millenium only. If you want other fire modes as well, you need to find the corresponding value for Mode1 and Mode1.

So for instance, Mode 1 has: Semi, Burst, Reactive, and Auto
So to turn on Semi, I set the value to 1.
If I want to turn on Reactive, the setting is 4.
Semi and Burst is 3.

Anyone who knows Binary will pick up on this pattern really quickly.

So let's say you want Semi, PSP, and Millenium.

I would set Mode1 to 1 (semi) and would set Mode 2 to 10 (Millenium and PSP). Then I could use the power button to cycle between them on the field (which is illegal in any tourney, fair warning)

So as far as settings, it looks like Millenium is preset at 6 pulls per second. I would call Ape and see if there's a way to change that (I know where to find the setting on the OLED boards, but I don't know where it is on the LEDs)

Played with it this weekend - I think I've got an issue or two with it.

Firstly, the back cap. When firing the rear oring seems almost too small - it lets the back cap travel backwards about a millimeter and vents a very small (but noticeable) amount of air, resulting in poor efficiency (3 pods + hopper off of 3000psi/68CU) - however, if I change the Oring to another which is slightly bigger, I can't then put the engine back into the body. Still fires, but gets considerably quieter and much more consistent when I hold the back cap in place:

Arbitrary test with back cap held: 298, 298, 284, 285, 286
Arbitrary test with back cap as it is supposed to be: 307, 271, 280, 306, 284

Secondly is probably (again) my misunderstanding of the board logic. From what I understand, battery level is indicated by Red = bad and Green = good.

4 new batteries, all registered as a low level voltage indication on the board, but the multimeter says they're delivering 8.9V-9.3V.

Apart from that (and the raucous laughter that I got when I rocked up with a Vapor) it shot well all day! The issues above made it slightly louder/less efficient than I was hoping, but for a UK winter it was alright!

However - one thing to note is that I won't be using the stock barrel as it has some serious machining problems (holes misaligned, some bits of metal inside the barrel front, some collapsed holes, back can be screwed in too far, resulting in gouging, plus I have an Eigenbarrel.)
