ok need to work on...
so heres the deelio
BODY/SHAPE SPECS
i have some flab on my stomach, not excessive i still look skinny even with a tight shirt on but still noticible
lots o fat on the upper back of my leg though im still good at running
minimal fat on upper arms and like some muscle, not much but some
FITNESS SPECS
in 2 minutes i can do maybe 12-14 pushups
in 1 minute i can do 30-35 situps
and my fastest time on the mile was 7:30, though average is probaly around 8:00
and i can do zero pullups
so anyway i consider myself sightly above average fit
what are some good ways to improve all that shiz cuzz if i want to have any chance in the military specifically the airforce, need to improve all of that
so besides just doing situps/pushups/running more often how else can i improve it?
i ride my bike often not that it helps much, ive biked about 5 miles through busy streets and up/down hills and that worked me pretty good but what about upper arm stregth?
ive been looking into weights but im a cheap *** and cant afford them (yes i am poor as hell right now)
some people suggested lifting heavy books, and doing wall pushups, but i want to hear from you guys so
what say you ST: fitness?

Stop thinking that some spots have more fat than others and start thinking some spots have less muscle than others.

And you may not be fat, but it definitely sounds like you are about average shape. 12-14 pushups in two minutes is horrible, and 30-35 situps in a minute is pretty bad. If you want to get into shape, and look like your in shape get your diet in order and get on a good lifting program. www.t-nation.com and www.bodybuilding.com are sites with good information.

Get some food for people with diabetes, it should be sugar free, but still sweet. Thats really not solving the problem of your lack of self-discipline though. You'll never get anywhere in lifting if you are unable to control yourself.

You just need to start reading some information sites really.
First thing you need to do is get your diet in check. Learn what to eat, what not to eat. Learn when to eat certain items during the day and when to avoid certain items.
Just knowing what to look for will make your diet fall into place.
As for pushups and what not. If you aren't going to the gym, just keep doing pushups daily and strive to keep increasing volume.

Definitely have to train chest a bit more, along with legs and back. But your chest must be lacking for only 12-14 push-ups in two minutes. Can you do pull-ups? Or is your back fairly weak as well?
Start putting on muscle and your fat will start going away. If you really just want to get the fat off, cardio and good diet are key.

try to eat a more balanced diet by incorporating fruits, vegetables, and lean meats throughout your day, if you don't already do. this should cut out those cookies and supposedly leave less room for your "sweet tooth" to choose your food. you have to really want to eat what your eating or else it won't work out, so try different veggies if your normally do not eat them, or try different fishes...you never know there may be one out there you haven't tried that could be one of your favorite foods. just showing up to the gym won't give you big results. anyone who doesn't workout can drop a few pounds in the first month at the gym, but you have to be dedicated to really get into shape. if you have or are getting a gym membership, trying setting something up with a personal trainer. he or she can really help you into getting a good workout routine that will probably be a lot better than half-assing it on the cardio equipment (not saying that you do). try to enjoy yourself and don't rely on the scale (especially if your lifting), use the mirror more as well as just realizing that you are feeling healthier overall. and just realize that your taking care of yourself and extending your life, try to see that your making achievements everytime you make a healthy decision, it will keep you going.
good luck

If we send him to the FAQ he'll get some information, but most likely continue to ask questions. HOWEVER, if we get him to t-nation or bodybuilding, he'll ask his questions there, thus decreasing the amount of clutter here.
