CCM 2" bore sizers

I have my eye on a used T2 and after looking at the CCM barrel kit my big question is; I have also been told that the best control bore length is 7 to 8 inches, but the CCM ones are 2".

Are these special 2" with the same effective control bore of a 7 or 8" performance?

No.

They wont give you the same Efficiency as a 7-8" control bore, and some will say they wont give you the same level of consistency either.

However; they WILL effectively stop roll outs and I have always found my stock CCM barrel with the 2" sizers to be pretty dam consistent at letting me be as accurate as I can with it.

(Accuracy is dependent on the shooter...a consistent marker will help a shooter be accurate.)

If you are REALLY worried about efficiency and consistency on your T2, you could always get another barrel kit with a larger control bore...

I most of my guns use a freak bored barrel, and once I found a barrel that I liked on my S6 I swapped the stock barrel out. But that was kind of accidental and I still use the Stock barrel quite a bit.

I am already using the Freak barrel system on my other guns.

I will try to buy the T2 without the CCM barrel kit.

Why waste money.

I just said I already have a Freak barrel kit that I use on all my guns.

Its actually quite difficult to freak a stock CCM barrel.

The sizers are cocker threaded but the threading between the sizer and the barrel "tip" (for lack of better word) is propitary.

That means you need to freak bore the barrel and a sizer together...doable but more difficult...

If the OP already has a feak barrel and is happy with that, then there is no need to go through the hassle really.

However I would love to freak my stock barrel...I love having the extra performance with the stock look. But I don't like to spend money

stanchy freak bored a CCM barrel. you're going to loose effeciency with a control bore longer than 8". i've got a deadly wind or freak barrel for each one of my markers, except for my WGP ranger.

I don't quite understand that explanation.

A 14" single piece barrel has as much as 10" of control bore before the porting.

After 8-9" the benefit you gain from the control bore begins to be overcome by the drag that it puts on the paintball it's self.

With a control bore over 8-9" you will need more air/gas to get the ball to 300fps. Therefore you lose efficientcy.

So what you are saying is to stay away from 1 piece barrels?

Not at all. they will still work just fine. they just wont be as efficient as a barrel with a control bore of about 8-9".

It is possible to have a one piece barrel with only 8-9" of controlled bore and a step up to a larger bore after.

All efficiency will do for you is use less gas...and therefore get you a few more shots per fill on your tank. With a normal tank its not that big a deal. But if you are using 12gs...then you might want to worry about efficiency...

Actually the optimum control bore length for efficiency is 9-10.5".

Lapco one-piece barrels have over 9" of control bore

i have freaked the stock ccm 1 piece barrel (works and t2 prototypes)
i have rethreaded phantom barrels and taso barrels, for ccm backs, then freaked through both the tip and back

i can not freak a stock ccm 2 piece (old version) im not 100% on the new version... need to measure the oring groove

the old version (short sizer) has an oring groove that is too thin to freak bore through

the new version is similar threading and sizing, but not 100% the same (i believe) it wouldnt be hard to measure the oring groove and see if it is thick enough to support a freak insert

when i rethread other barrels to be ccm threaded, i leave the oring groove much thicker and safe to freak
