they've already ruled that he was trying to get out of the way. neither coach seemed worried about it at all. garcia was probably going to get tackled anyway, and usc ended up scoring a TD there anyway. no big deal. although it did give me a little lol.

I remember seeing that when I was watching it live and it looked like the ref was just trying to get away from him. From this angle though you can see him getting ready to hit him and even moving into his path.
why wouldn't it be? The ref had no reason to hit the quarterback and so wasn't legally allowed to tackle him..
Easily one of the dumbest things I have EVER read.

ya it was pretty messed up the ref did that but Lsu still handled em anyway. either way a ref is considered a player on the field so idk what would happen
