Would prefer not to have it on the 14/15 because of the AA event at Liberty University on Nov 14. I know we are planning on sending players down to that, and I would assume that some of the other teams in this conference may do the same.

Tim Montressor thought the first weekend Nov 7/8 would be the best time to hold it because it'll still be warm enough outside with enough sunlight, which most players prefer. After Nov 7/8, we'd be looking at playing inside.

I'd be very happy to do it Nov 7/8, so that we avoid conflicting w/ the AA event the following weekend and so that we can take advantage of the outdoor field, but I also recognize that each school has it's own calendar.

Ohio, is there a realistic reason why you can't do Nov 7/8? I don't mean to be nosy but if the reason for avoiding this date is something like a home football game, I don't think we should be choosing dates based on something like that.

That is a good point, as outdoors will mean we can shoot any color paint we want, indoors means white fill paint only and stupid poles. Luckily AAPP keeps the porta-johns out for about a month after they move stuff inside, so even if we do need to push it back we won't all be stuck with one rest room like at other winter tournaments there.

I don't care what layout and I'm sure Tim can set up whatever layout you all want, let's just figure it out so we can practice it a couple times before the event.

cucuzza is not in a position to speak for Ohio, well neither am i for that matter. i am pretty sure they are a 5 man they are going to the day before though.

Skip - could you take the lead on this and work w/ AAPP (and team presidents) to make a final determination on the event date (aka phone calls)?

It looks like Nov 8th may work for everyone. (I think) Ohio has not officially chimed in, which would lead me to believe that they don't have a strong preference against having the event on Nov 8th.

It's getting to the point where we need this event date to be determined, we are 2.5 weeks from November, and the sooner we have this worked out w/ the field, the more time we'll have to prepare for the event itself.

Just to reiterate our preference - we are trying to send a team down to the AA event in southern VA on Nov 14th. We would prefer not to hold the A event on the 14/15th, as a considerable number of players and staff will be down in VA that Saturday for the NCPA event.

Ok well Tim needs to know asap to ensure field space and so he can make sure his reffing crew will be there, I\'m going to ask him if we can do it on the 8th since the majority of teams want it that weekend.

Sorry guys I was in florida the past few days.

The reason we can't do the 7/8th is because we need that weekend to fund raise, we are hosting a game at our home field to raise money. Having two events in one quarter (yes, we are on quarters) is tough for us. Our team also just played at cup and are thus struggling for money and to pay the ridiculous $4000 class a entry fee.

It's going to be cold nov 8 in PA, just as cold as it will be the following weekend. I don't see any reason to rush this next event because of the weather... I'd assume we are going to play inside either way right?

sorry to butt in, but the 14th is an NCPA event that is already scheduled (AA). Is there any way that your school can front the money and you guys can fundraise another day. its hard enough to get even half the people to agree on a date that works for numerous reasons. Everybody has to make some sort of sacrifice for an event scheduled on an inconvenient day.

As being part of the NCPA we have the privilege of giving input to schedule a date for an event. We should be happy that the date isn't just decided for us.


Was there anyone against having the event on the 22nd? I still think its better on the 8th because there will be a chance that we can do this outdoors if the weather is good.

oct 22nd? thats just over a week away. I for one know i cant make it that day and would probably be too short of notice for the field. And yes the plan was to play outside on the 8th.

Oct 22nd is a Thursday, I believes he means Nov 22. It would def be indoors, which I honestly think we are going to be doing either way, 8th or 22nd, its already down to about 40 in State College and its going to snow this coming weekend.

A quick look at Nov 22nd would look like it might work for Penn State, we have the whole following entire week off for Thanksgiving so it may be troublesome if guys have travel plans set for that day, like plane tickets home for Thanksgiving. I will bring it up at our meeting tomorrow night and post more info after.

Looked at calendar and totally missed the 22nd being a Thursday... I believe some of our guys have plans already to leave before that Sat. The dorms here kick everyone out on Friday no matter what so a bunch of our guys already have plans to leave that day.

OKay so here is the situation at OU

Our Club Sports have decided to restructure the way they run the organization. In turn,they have created an allocative funds system for us. Which means, in simple turns, a quarterly budget. When we turned ours in we assumed one event this quarter like years past. Again, as a result of this we cannot just go into club sports and request enough money to cover even a very small amount of paint.

So we are kinda in a bind as the new way the clubs sports is being run here has created this financial issue for us. I deeply apologize for this, but it was never expressed that we could be THAT limited to our funds per quarter.

So I guess what I am saying is that OU would appreciate it if the event could be held off till at least early Jan. Our hands are pretty much tied at his point, and again I apologize to everyone for having such a later date be proposed, especially now, but I wanted to make sure of every detail before stating this.

Please feel us out on this, we would greatly appreciate it .

we (psu) talked last night and realized that the weekend of nov 8th is the only time we could possibly play until the spring semester. so if nov 8th cant happen it looks like we are going to have 2 events in the spring
