I've had a JT one for a few years now. Sunday i got bunkered and took one shot to the adams apple and one shot below it. The adams apple shot was painless because of the guard but the shot below it wasnt covered by the guard and was really painful and left a big bruise right above me collar bone. If I didn't have the neck guard covering my adams apple I might have had to go to the hospital.

Well that "lucky shot" can hospitalize you, putting you out of work, and out of paintball for a long time. So weigh your options:
1. Get shot in the jugular and get severely injured missing a week of work costing a lot of money and a lot of pain.
2. Buy a neck guard for $15 that protects you. Put it on when you get to the field and forget about it the entire day and be safe.

lol to be honest i usually wear mine. its comfortable and better than getting shot directly in the neck. and if they look "noobish" it really shouldnt matter because your out there to have fun and if getting shot in the neck isnt fun to you then go ahead and wear one.

I wear one, I don't care if it looks "noobish", the feeling of being shot in the neck is very unpleasant, a neck protector helps to lessen that feeling.
Mind you, I usually just wear a t-shirt and jeans when I play, no padded clothes or vests, but the neck is an area worth protecting.

I also wear one, I have been shot in the next a few times and the protection is nice. I really dont care if I look newbish wearing one they will realize in a hurry during a game that I am not newbish.

I got shot in the neck once and it took some skin with it (a little bleeding),... but it sucked afterwords since you invariable move your neck.
I have a Redz neckguard. but never wear it just because I am usually feeling too hot as it is, I don't wish to add an additional covering.

I dont care if I look like a noob with the neckguard. I've personally never been hit in the neck just yet, but a couple of friends have been bunkered and shot straight in the neck.. As someone already posted, one of my friends got shot at like 3 feet away from his neck and got hit in the adams apple, he didnt play for the rest of the day. He had a hard time drinking and eating for a couple of days.

I don't wear one I think they are annoying and a waste of money. Just take the pain. The pain goes away after about 3 minutes.
