I usually get a bounce except when I get hit on the goggles or hopper. But the field's max FPS is 250.

When my team doubles up the back bunker I just tuck in and get bounce city on the side of my arm and leg.

But personally, my favorite bounce was one that I got off of my shoulder and watched drop in through my speedfeed. I have NEVER heard of that happening with anyone else.

A couple of weeks ago I walked by a guy that was hiding, he didn't shoot for like 10min so I had no idea he was there. But as I walk by he shoots me in the *** twice from 3ft away and both bounced. I didn't even bother checking while on the field it wasn't until after the game I realized there was no paint on my *** haha

Found a couple balls in a bag from god knows when, I tried shooting them at plywood at 275 from about 5 metres away, only a couple broke. Would hate to be hit those.

Bounces suck. They happen. Annoying when I know I've hit someone 3 times and they aren't out.

But I don't "dress for bounces".

Same as wiping IMO.

You don't "learn from your mistakes".

You don't improve your game.

You were still hit... just stayed in on a technicality.

Don't take pride in your simple luck.

I still view every bounce I get on myself as a negative mark on "my game".

I agree with the rest but not this. I think wiping is just outright cheating, you are completely disregarding the rules by wiping paint and not going out. A bounce on the other hand you can`t really control (unless you are shooting monster balls then its for sure going to happen).

Just last weekend I got 2 bounces off of my neck (ouch), one off the head, and off the shoulder. I'd say that's pretty often for a day of play

We all know the point of the paintball - to shoot the other person first. Encouraging people to dress so they're technically not out even when they are hit goes against the basic premise and spirit of the game.

Simple.

I will not purposefully choose what I wear to increase the likelihood bounces - to plan your game upon 'winning' on a technicality is not only poor sportsmanship, its dishonorable IMO.

I know it won't change the fact that plenty of people will dress for bounces. If anyone does, rationalize it however you want. I can't stop you.

But I'll still know how many time's I actually shot you, even if you do stay in... kinda takes away the bragging rights if you ask me...

I understand your point, I just think you're a bit extreme.

Realistically, *any* clothing makes it more likely you're going to get a bounce.

I view gear the other way, a jersey and an undershirt together cut down on the sting...and that's fine by me. I play paintball to have fun and reducing the sting increases the fun.

When I need to feel pain, I have a "special friend" for that and it's way better (and quite a bit more expensive) than paintball.

I myself dont dress for bounces, just a t-shirt and jeans or shorts. A bounce is really a fluke, even if you are wearing bounce pads and stuff. I just play for fun, but I get why they use them in tournaments and such. Paintball, like any sport people are going to exploit anything to gain even the smallest advantages over their opponents. Good or bad its a part of sports to evolve technology.

I took a bounce off the lens of my flex once. I've also "caught" a ball with the soft part of my flex. That was pretty cool when it happened.

I find I get a lot of bounces and I wear an unpadded jersey/longsleeve with an underarmor shirt under it. Some people (especially in rec) use really ****ty paint. I dive with all the grace of an airline crash so the only reason I wear elbow pads is for the bounce factor. When I first started playing I remember there were all sorts of rules in the tournaments about what constituted padding and excessively baggy clothing but it seems like in recent years they stopped caring. The amount of padding on jerseys today is rather ridiculous.

I usually check for breaks, even in rec unless I take 2 or 3 shots all at once and then I figure if the guy hit me 3 times he could hit me 3 more times and I'll call it without a check. A single shot though I'm checking myself or calling for a ref before doing much more, especially in walk-ons where half the people are shooting rocks from wal-mart.

I thought you couldn't wear bounce shirts in tourneys. And I agree I bought a newer jersey off line. The amount of padding compared to my older ones is INSANE. I hate it. I like rocking a long sleeve or a t shirt.

I have never worn a paintball jersey, but some of them look overkill with the pads, If anything I would be more worried about heat stroke then balls breaking on you.

Yeah my old jersey has "padding" which is more like a second layer of cloth on the inside on the forearms. And that's it. My new one(prolly wont wear again) the padding is actual padding on the forearms chest shoulders it's over kill and makes it stiffer in those areas. I feel like if they had less padding it would be better not for bounces per say but catching balls in the slack fabric.

Ill never buy a tourney jersey again. Practice jerseys and OG long sleeves all day.

NCPA jerseys can't have any padding at all. Still gonna get some bounces.

yeah, I dont know the exact rules for tournaments, but I know pure stock class rules dont allow for more then two layers, and has to be be your size, this has to be pretty reliant on the honour system. also no ghillie suits and whatnot. Bounces have always been a part of paintball, I dont think that will ever change.

I think bounces have more to do with paint, how far the distant you are from target and speed the ball is travelling at rather then what its hitting. Although its pretty obvious if a ball is hitting something soft it wont break as easy, but I think the main factors in bounces are speed and quality of the shell.
